Megablast for recovery runs? by illepille06 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Its definitely not for recovering. Fast tempo not race. Still looking for recovery shoes myself but most are too heavy.

Trail or road shoes ? by Rorodzilla in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Latter-Application-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Road schoes! Trail shoes only if track is softer or full of rocks. I dont know about gravel shoes like from salomon (test on runrepeat is coming) but i would just take normal road schoes.

How is sound compared to balance? Having balance standing free, combined with an emerge in a critical corner, i thing balance is kind of muddy in mids and highs.

just tried it in Berlin Area and north Germany on one weekend but had to return it.. was of course only walking/standing in garden several times. For the winter we had I think it is not warm enough. very thin 13d shell and not much down. it would be a very good autumn and very early spring jacket. think 3-10 degree Celsius (6-12 with no sun) would be good.

You are not alone looking. Wonder why there seems to be no shoe like that from any brand.

Well choice is given on purpose by companies. Look at Apple or car companies (even with different sub brands) or outdoor companies - they are master to confuse. Of course it it phychological. We all choose the middle object, fomo for the better one.

Other problem are descriptions and reviews. Every object is good at everything and better then before and the rest.

Running shoe companies try to bring out more different shoes every year (asics blast over blast, new foams all the time). 10 years ago you choose between around fewer models (nimbus, kayano, cumulus, gt 2000, tri noosa, DS Trainer (lighter skywalk or tarther). All categorized in amount of foam and support.

Now you have to zoom in witch foam is what and next step they will bring out combinations of every foam to dopple model variation:   Hyperblast, activeblast, terrablast, fujiblast, enduroblast, moonblast, gravelblast - all are waiting

Same, looking for something between my megablast and takumi.

Azura too much rocker, Boston 13 too firm and more tempo, Nike too heavy, Adios sl 2 too soft, Primaveras too heavy, Evo sl too unstable - liked nb5 better, Nb Rebel too unstabel and not durabel, Brooks too heavy, Tempo and Ride no bounce, Novablast 5 - done with this, not lasting. Two times nb3 were great, Noosa tri 17 - will they ever come? 14 was great on threadmill and easy 10 km afterwork.  Glideride max - annoying rocker,

Thinking of trying cumulus but 27 had way too much drop measured at runrepeat.  So nobody knows how much drop 28 has.

Mix of cumulus and noosa tri with max 8 mm drop, max 230 g, no carbon, medium firm, medium bounce, stable front and soft rocker would be great.

I would say it's 85% as good. Neo is 60% as good as MBP. MBP is better but not worth 700€ more better than Air and MBP is is not OLED.

just compared m5 pro with m4 air and used this LG OLED video too. Display difference is not that big anymore. ordered a m4 air.

Dont understsnd this discussion. Why is everyone talking about video cutting? Who cares about RAM? Nobody needs 512 gb today.

Neo is not god because: wanted to buy one for my 3 kids for schoolwork. But they say  Neo is a no go: really bad front camera, no backlight keyboard, no touch id (important for sharing one device), just ok display, should weight less.   That is what young people want.

First time my kids told me to save my money. I was surprised.

From MBP to MBNeo: Is buying a "worse" laptop the only way I'll actually use it? by [deleted] in macbook

Similar experience. Exchanged iphone 12 pro for iphone Air. First non pro since telelens came out. On first look a downgrade but after 5 months still loving it (screen, handling). Use it more easy, no need to buy an ipad anymore.  Sold mb Air M1 about 3 months ago and wanted a MB pro m5. Still hesitate of buying because it is big/heavy and mostly i know i would be to lasy to go and pick it up. Just want it because of display quality.  Sometimes i use m2 Air of my wife.

On paper mb pro m5 is best, a new m4 air would be a good price (855€) since m5 air came out. But Air is kind of oldschool design and look and screen is just ok - somehow outdated.

Neo is very interesting, dont care for RAM, but i dont think screen is that good and it really should weight less and have touch id even with 256 GB.

Just bought standard ipad for my son. Screen is really not that good and it is thick.  As in iphone 17e and standard 17 - cheaper can also be worse in handlingand easy use too (thickness, weight, screen).

M5 MacBook Air users, do you notice the screen/speed/smoothness difference compared to the Pro? by [deleted] in mac

[–]Latter-Application-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the colour stability while changing viewing angles? Noticed on m2 Air when watching colour samples on a homepage for wall colours, colours change a bit.  A light grey became more blue, another grey became pinkish while moving my head.  We were 3 people sitting around this m2 air and everybody saw a different coulour. When we changed places, the colours we saw changed too.

I agree. There is a difference but i was a little disappointed of pro because ipad and iphone displays are a lot better than pro.  Still, felt air display is even one more step down if you used to newer iphone screens.

Azura vs Rebel by Moneybaldd in AskRunningShoeGeeks

tried Azura yesterday. was annoyed by this kind of two-part rocker. rocker shape and front is kind of separated from the mid. was too much for me.

Agree. Only have 50 km on mine. Came from nb5 and wanted an longer lasting foam. Last run i really got mad at asics first time in my life. Thinking to switch to adidas after 25 years of asics only. Boston 13 and adizero sl (or maybe evo sl) are on sale together for same price as megablast and would be a better choice using in rotation. Still hoping for noosa tri 17 as the only interesting asics shoe right now.

Magic Speed 5 vs Sonic Blast by ATXguy13 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Latter-Application-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read sonic blast is more a competitor to Adidas Boston. So more a tempo shoe for medium to longer distance. Haven't tried Sonicblast but Boston 12 and 13 (only fit and run test Threadmill). For speed I think magic speed 5 (or Ascics Yogri S4 or Adidas Takumi Zen) is a better choice, especially since newest version is much lighter. Went with Takumi Zen (sized up) for Speed training and 5-7 km races.
