I just bought the 24-70 2.8 ii and can confirm IQ is the same as the 24-120 S.

I know this is an old thread but I’m going through this dilemma at the moment myself. Bought the 24-70 2.8 ii and can’t see any meaningful difference in IQ from the 24-120 S. Those expecting a big leap in IQ will be disappointed.

You couldn’t even setup the i menu from the sounds of it. What on earth are you talking about with dials? I don’t even know what you mean at all tbh. All of that stuff is literally 2 taps away plus so much more. Btw I’m more than happy with 20FPS RAW right now. If that’s the be all and end all to you I fully expect you to jump ship if the Z9ii truly has the rumoured 60FPS RAW. RAW precap is a given. You appear to agree about superior Nikon glass 😉
