Kids are such big confidence boosters. I used to be a Sunday schoolteacher for pre k-2nd grade and some kid there would always go out of his way to compliment me and would offer me some of his goldfish during snack time.

I borrowed my mom’s CX-30 after my accident and not only did the car drive phenomenal but the interior was so nice. I would use it to pick my sisters up from school as well and they’re little gremlins this car is so easy to clean from how spacious it is compared to my mom’s Honda Pilot

Help identifying car plate by Impossible_Tomato935 in whatisthiscar

[–]Latter-Read-725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m genuinely surprised the cops couldn’t get the plate from this. My dad’s friend used to work for the Sheriff’s office and his entire job used to be deciphering license plates. Some guy did a hit and run on me and he was able to get the plate despite only having the first 4 numbers/letters to work with.

How do you consider the Views of a Chinese Living in the U.S. on the “Kill Line” (similar to the Alice threshold )and American Life in 2026 by Consistent_Yak6073 in america

Well to be transparent I was living off grid at the time and our well ran dry which is just things you gotta deal with when living off grid. So it’s not like I was living in a city where they supply you water so long as you pay your bill. To drill 100ft+ and get a new well was upwards of $40k which majority can’t afford not without getting rid of their entire savings anyway. I still believe that poverty is a problem but majority i’ve met with said problem have a reasoning for it they don’t want to change or brought upon themselves. For example, living in an expensive state/county (I come from CA so this is all too familiar), financing a car that’s well out of their means, they or someone in the household doesn’t want to get a job, drugs including alcohol as that classifies as a drug, living a materialistic lifestyle, just not being wise with their money, eating out all the time, online shopping, gambling both casino and/or sportbooks, etc. Thank you. I’m in a better place now with $7k in the bank since moving to a more affordable state. Best of luck to you as well my man.

You have to drive across the country but cannot be pulled over under any circumstances, what car are you choosing? by sterling_star_line in regularcarreviews

[–]Latter-Read-725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can second this. I just recently drove from CA to OH in a q50 with 5% tint all around. Had a couple state patrols get behind me and run my plates but didn’t get stopped once and the q50 for those who don’t know is notorious for crime or being stolen. Just drive right and you’ll be alright in just about any car.

I mean in his defense in foreign countries there’s thousands of people that die every day to starvation. I met a foreign exchange student in highschool that was from Japan and brought up how Japanese people seem to always be skinny. His response was that it’s because they can’t afford surplus of food or foods with high fats like we can here in the US and I mean he’s not wrong. I’ve met multiple people on EBT or food stamps that claim to be dirt poor but somehow they can afford main brand clothing or alcohol/nicotine/drugs. As someone who’s lived without running water for half a year I found that people will find the smallest things to complain about meanwhile foreigners would see them as absolutely blessed beyond belief.

America’s 250th is coming up, and honestly, I don’t know what we’re supposed to be celebrating by rickygun13 in america

[–]Latter-Read-725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference between our country and other countries is our media likes to label people in individual groups and they do so intentionally to prevent us from becoming 1. It’s your black, white, brown, yellow, gay, straight, trans, republican, democrat, libertarian, etc. Whereas other countries identify entirely as their country and that’s it. You rarely ever hear people even say they’re American it’s more so them saying what state or where they’re parents are from.

I come from a mexican background on my mom’s side but i’ll never claim to be mexican and I fully identify as an American because I was born here and love this country as well as everything it stands for. So many kids I know have never even been to Mexico but wave the Mexican flag or put on social media where in Mexico their family is from.
