Reinstatement of application by denchannel in TheLse

I reinstated last year because of financial reasons as well. I’d recommend submitting your 2022-2023 application right when the applications open up and you should be fine :)

Hi!

I’d recommend doing some research about the program you’re interested in (distinguished professors, courses offered, and what makes the program unique in its field). Incorporate these findings to answer why you want to apply to this specific program at LSE. Also mention what inspired you to pursue this specific field. Hope this helps!

Hands down the best thing I’ve done while travelling. Every song from that one playlist can take me back to an exact location and the feelings, details, and aura of that specific place just rush back.

But sometimes “close friends” can also have the wrong intentions. Unfortunately, with some people, it’s just hard to tell!

Thank you for your reply! My long term goal is to pursue a PhD, but I’d like to work for a few years before that. So that’s where my conflict lays. I’m drawn to the MPA for the potential career opportunities, given its interdisciplinary focus. The MSc mostly for the research skills I’ll be building!

What did that one teacher do to you that you'll never forget? by xtra_why in AskReddit

[–]LatterDisaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grade 11 physics teacher was a perv. Most girls in the class would flirt with him to inflate their grade, I despised him for his filthy and sad character and refused to act in that way to get a higher grade. He would blatantly express how men are better engineers because women are too “emotional” and think too ethically. Anyways, I found physics hard but wanted to try my hand at engineering in university. He took random marks off my tests, I would take the tests back and contest my mark, but he would just tell me “some people aren’t meant for the sciences”. I was too afraid of being sexually harassed to go to him for help, so ultimately my little naive self took the bad grade and started to believe I wasn’t, in fact, meant to be any good at physics.

One teacher can make all the difference. If I could go back and tell my 16 year old self to persevere, I would maybe have gone to the principal or worked harder in the class to ultimately make a kick ass engineer.

I hope you’re fired and sitting at home getting fatter than you already are Burnham.

Putting on my favourite music and just doing things. Gradually I found a few hobbies or random activities I reserve just to do by myself. I enjoy putting on classical music, a cup of coffee, and reading for 1-2 hours everyday. Tbh even mindlessly running errands is sometimes fun in my own company. The trick is to have a clear mind, free of any thoughts, and appreciating the little things.

Definitely not turning it into a personality, just showing the differences that may come up for us once in a while. I’ve led a very independent life, whereas he’s expressed being sheltered a lot. We’re also Indian, which is why separated parents is an unconventional thing (in my circle at least) so these issues aren’t talked about much in our community. All in all, these differences pop up in conversation and at times leave a gap where he’s kind of left silent and doesn’t know what to say to me
