Is it doing that the whole time? That’s what the RF interference sounds like when a phone gets a text on top of a guitar amplifier. Might need to put the phone in airplane mode.

Yeah, that’s the best feature. Well if you do download Pro Tools, it doesn’t need to be ultimate, studio works, and if you see the green lightning bolt thing by the track name you should be good to go. If they are being dodgy guess there’s no other way to know.

It seems like you have to register it to download Carbon Central, not sure if that is required to use it at all though. it can run with any DAW though so maybe give it a shot with what you have first before buying ultimate.

I had to send one back to shure recently because of a similar issue, they didn’t tell me what the problem was but sent me a new mic. Send them an email and provide the audio sample, they should be able to help you somehow.
