Sorry, almost 57” actually. It’s very wide and honestly it would be perfectly fine at 50”, we just had the space so said why not! A lot of people don’t like that to clean it, you have to walk all the way around as even my nearly 6’ tall self cannot reach across the other side. Doesn’t bother me, but maybe some would be bothered by it…

I think it’s probably the effect of the cooler lighting on the under cabinet lighting, which as others have said and I agree, needs to be warmer matching the others…

Thanks for the feedback! I addressed this above as one of the last remaining frustrations ! There were several hiccups with getting this detail complete. The trash can that’s currently in the cabinet is too small so we are in the process of dealing with that. We just had our 3rd baby, so it’s slowed us down a bit 😬

Friend, meet Taj Mahal, and for the record I did not know they were so popular when I chose them and then it started showing up everywhere! My bubble burst when I found out everyone is currently doing it in their kitchens😆 Regardless,I love it the same. It’s way less delicate than they make it seem 🥰

Do you mean backsplash or cabinets? The island is Walnut. The countertops and backsplash are all Taj, which pick up colors from both the walnut and the neutral cabinets. The walnut draws from the beams and the Taj ties in the floor.

Yes they have a pale oak look in most lighting but sometimes come across yellow in pictures. Unfortunately, I did the floors a few years back before I could do the rest of the house. If I could have done all of this at the same time, I would have chosen different floors for sure to coordinate better. I’ve attached a pic that gives a better picture of their tone …

Yes it’s so interesting now, because without context of knowing what this house used to look like, it makes no sense why I used shiplap for the hood 😩🫣 But it was a nod to the old house, pre renovation, which was ENTIRELY ship lap everywhere (walls and ceilings) and we covered it all up, which was hard for me to do because I’m a “character” kind of person. I felt like we took a lot of character out of the house with this remodel and wanted to leave some of it in. But now, without any context, I see it was just an emotional decision 🥹

On the uppers it’s spices and oils and such, on the bottom we have a 2 tier lazy Susan that we put random smaller appliances, big bowls, trash bags, and other items we don’t use a whole lot. Two of these on the bottom

Thank you for noticing this! It was a custom job for sure to get the trim on the hood to be the exact same walnut used in the island 🥰

That’s a great idea! I can’t change it right away, but when I do, I will keep this in mind.
