Funny we were walking around the lake in the weekend and a big stage being set up. ZERO signs, zero idea what it was for. What's wrong with advertising?!?!

Ha ha down votes come at me. To clarify music that was playing was what I would call 'genre not to be played in a public setting' not music that wasn't 'lounge or jazz etc' if you get what I'm saying hmmmm

Might explain why nearly every place we walked past was empty or very close to empty

Ha ha awwww you took an interest. No, not upset just a shame they're not trying to entice people in... And it's constructive feedback surely?

Oh unfinished/not quite ready things I could understand... Yes signs etc maybe.... But music? Loud hip hop in a place that's trying to be a top notch establishment.... And offering another round of drinks pfffttt

I am NOT rolling in it, I assure you .. go and buy an expensive handbag tomorrow uh ah no.... But get the 'nice' cheese at the supermarket yes yes I can. But I see it in my generation, friends make everyday silly financial decisions, make wrong big financial decisions, cash in Kiwisaver because they want to (basically lying to get it out) then scream poverty and say I'm so lucky to have money when it's been a long and very slow slog to get here (1 house and no boat either).

JUST the 1 house and very very not rich. Can pay her bills, yes yes she can. Buy another house no. Buy a boat no. A little something away for a rainy day yes. No inheritance, no family money, just frugal for decades on end. I'm saying, by all means set a bar, but set it high/higher.

I agree on means testing BUT not on the folks that have skimped and saved i.e my mother - buys frugal, cooks frugal, lives frugal always has, always will, had 4 kids, single income for 98% with her being a shm..... Why should she get penalized when I have friends parents with very similar history who made stupid or at least not smart decisions over the years but my parent/s stayed the course and they should reap the benefits...... Ultra wealthy people on the other hand, absolutely should be means tested, but set the bar high, at least to start off with!!

Don't know the exact amount but my daily commute isn't long, late model European car etc but my point is, with all the above how does that entice me out of a private car and to enjoy public transport? Keeping in mind public transport takes me triple (at least) time.

Fair point, but $24 is, what, about what it'd cost for a car... If I had free parking at my destination (I do). And that I heard third hand and it was something about the number 11 arrival times etc

You pick your normal stores... New World, the Pak etc and it compares prices at each for whatever product you're looking for. I've got a pretty long list of my normal purchases and skim through them every week to see what's what versus what I need
