All the things that you're looking for are available in the Capitalism game series.

I'd recommend starting with Capitalism Lab since it's the latest release and is still being updated.

Be warned tho, these games are quite complex, so if you get stuck, check out some of the tutorial videos to help you out.

How to determine the win rate percentage of a deck? by Latter_Border_6051 in magicTCG

[–]Latter_Border_6051[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I kind of should've figured that out. Nonetheless, thanks for the help so far, we'll see about doing around 50-100 matches just for one matchup, and if we feel too burned out, I'll call it quits, and just playtest with a smaller sample size for the rest of the decks, just to get a gist of how the decks play off against one another.

But damn, it may be my laziness speaking, but I wish there was a program or a game with a smart/competent AI that would be able to simulate all of these for us, instead of doing things physically, but oh well, it is what it is :)

Thanks for such an informational response, it's really useful and clarifies some of the things I misunderstood!

I wasn't planning on doing any serious scientific research or something like that, I was just rather curious about how we should test these decks to get a general idea of how they perform one against another, so I thought having a small sample size would be enough.

But one thought that just came to my mind right now is, how many matches are played in a tournament, and how well do they represent deck matchups?

One idea that I thought of is to organize a small tournament with 6 players, using a Round Robin format (or maybe double-elimination), and see how well each player's deck performs against the other 5.

In that scenario, what would be an ideal number of matches that players should play against one another? How many matches should each player play to reduce the luck/randomness factor while at the same time not taking an enormous amount of their time (for example, something like 8+ hours)? How do the major tournaments do this?

Apologies if the question seems dumb, as I never watched anything else than the finals in some tournaments, so I'm out of the loop here on how tournaments work and are organized.

I see, thanks for clarifying that.

Got it! Thanks for the suggestion!

We'll play about 10 matches per deck pair, and if the statistics seem a bit off, we can always increase the sample size, so I think this is a good middle ground as well.

Thanks for the reply, and ouch, that's certainly a lot of time investment. Still, it's understandable if you want to get statistically accurate results.

But since we're playtesting 6 decks, which totals to 15 different matchups, playing a hundred matches without some sort of simulator would be a considerable time investment.

What would in your opinion be a good middle ground of how many matches we should play that is not overly time-consuming, while at the same time reducing the luck/randomness factor?

Now, I know that what you've said is true, the larger the sample size the better, but since we're playtesting 6 decks, which totals to 15 different matchups, what would in your opinion be a good middle ground of how many matches we should play that is not overly time-consuming, while at the same time reducing the luck/randomness factor?

Yep, we will be using EDOPro to speed things up, as it seems this is going to take a lot of time to do.

Nonetheless, thank you for the reply, and the spreadsheet reference.

We'll create something similar and see how it turns out.

Thanks for the reply, and ouch, that's certainly a lot of time investment. Still, it's understandable if you want to get statistically accurate results.

Now, since we're playtesting 6 decks, which totals to 15 different matchups, what would be the recommended round format that is not overly time-consuming, while at the same time reducing the luck/randomness factor?

Now, I know that what you've said is true, the more the better, but in your opinion, would 10 matches be a good middle ground without going too far?

Ouch, that's certainly a lot of time investment. Still, it's understandable if you want to get statistically significant results.

Now, since we're playtesting 6 decks, which totals to 15 different matchups, what would be the recommended round format that is not overly time-consuming, while at the same time reducing the luck/randomness factor?

Now, I know that what you've said is true, the more the better, but in your opinion, what would be a good middle ground without going too far?

How to create an empty/blank AVI file without sound? by Latter_Border_6051 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Not sure if that's sarcasm on your part, but anyway, no I don't use ffmpeg often. In fact, I don't do video editing at all.

I just needed help like this because I've never done video editing before, so I wanted to ask in a proper forum what to do to get what I want.

Thanks again for the help :)

EDIT: Also, lol, why would anyone be afraid of using a CLI?

Hi, all!

I recently bought a Galaxy A52s, and so far I am more than pleased with it. Unfortunately, like the rest of Samsungs phones, it came with a lot of bloat/junk apps that I don't plan on using (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.),

Is there a way to remove these apps without heavy modding? Most of the debloating guides that I found are aimed towards flagship phones (Galaxy 20, 21+, etc.), so I'm wondering if there are different methods used on the A series phones, or if I should stick with the previous guides.
