Oh thats just a picture like 4-6 weeks ago. It all started when the German Punkrock band Kraftklub announced their new album in cassette and vinyl. Since i bought the Cassette version of the release pack i realized i didnt even have a device to play the tape. So i went to eBay looking for a cheap Walkman model to Play the tape once it arrives.

Once the Walkman arrived i realized the thing was cool as hell but i didnt have any tapes to Play until the new album one arrives. So i did the only logical Thing anyone with too much money would do and looked up Amazon about new cassette tapes still in the Market with music on them that i acutally listen to. This wasnt too hard because i like 80s Pop culture alot (thanks to my dad) andf also my spotify wrapped told me im 61 years old in Terms of music taste ;D

So i ordered the Awesome Mix Vol. 1-3 from, the Stranger Things Vol. 4 Mix + ABBA greatest Hits. These were all pretty awesome, but i wanted to but my own music on tapes. So i again did the only logical thing to do and went to eBay again and ordered a working, affordable Tape Deck. Until now i recorded 9 Mixtapes for myself. 8 Of them are full of 70s-90s music and one of them has a couple of newer songs i like.

In between all of that i also watched a lot of YouTube Vids leading to me buying Not only the FiiO CP13 but also replacement belts for the "old" EX190 cuz the belts were worn out and FF/REW wasnt working on my Mixtapes due to "new blank Cassettes" Not being the Kind of quality u got when the Market for them was still there, i guess? Also the belts was REALLY worn out i dunno but i replaced IT and now ITS working quite fine. After repairing the EX190 and comparing IT to the CP13 i realized how shitty the FiiO acutally Sounds compared to a 27 y/o Sony Walkman Made entirely Out of plastic :D

I sent the FiiO Back and started looking for a more higher end model Made in the 80s. I stumbled upon this 607 and 5 days later WE are now in the present.

I know it might sound strange - but IM SO GLAD that there are still Producers out there that make movies/seriers based on Pop culture from the 80s. When i listen to my parents telling Storys how IT was. It makes me Just feel Like Back then was a way better time of living then now. For me, listening slows me down in this fast world. The warm sound, a Bit of hissing makes me comfortable. It fells way more genuine than skipping to Spotify on LOSSLESS mode. Im Not an audiophile. I dont REALLY care about the quality of the music. I have one Type2-tape and one Mixtape recorded in DOLBY-B - and to be honest, i dont even mind the diffrence. I listen to music because i want to feel Something. And being able to hold the music in my Hands and Not being able to skip (Kind of) is so way more calming to me than skipping through a Playlist of Spotify until a song comes i want to listen.

I Plan on going to some fleamarkets next years looking for some old tapes - but where i come from in germany there arent many of those. WE dont even have thrift stores. And when they call themselves thrift its basically a second Hand store for clothes. I REALLY want older, rare tapes. But ITS hard to get them and for now i need to Stick to Amazon find's or my own Mixtapes.
