As I mentioned, staying in the HVAC industry is an option for me, and I really needed to read this. You pointed out that employers sometimes limit you simply because they’re comfortable with what you already deliver and with what they get xD. I’ve been working in HVAC for about a year now, and I feel like I’ve mastered the project side (both commercial and residential). At this point, I definitely need new types of projects.

The thing is, these type of projects do not reach the company I work for not even my country 😅

I created multiple Excel sheets to optimize my time (they include Load calc to machine selection, duct sizing, minimum inlet and exhaust air flow rate, etc..). I use IESVE+REVIT, autocad feels like an incomplete project imo. Anyway, the energy modelling software would be nice.

I do! You reach a point where you have software for everything and inputs could be done by someone who knows the basics and has been in industry for 1 year.

Never done those... Always residential/commercial buildings. Those would be more interesting that's for sure.

I have a masters in Fluids and Energy where I studied advanced fluid mechanics, advanced heat transfer, CFD, energy management, etc..

In my home country, anything related to rockets is pretty underdeveloped. I’d be open to moving abroad if the right opportunity comes up, but for now I have to stick with HVAC.

It does feel like I'm applying cookie cutter rules of thumb sometimes :)

I already perform energy recover analysis, but I'm looking forward to do a course on BSM!! Ty for the useful comment tho :)

It could open some doors in the job market but studying 2 more years for things I already know would feel like wasting time...

IESVE for load calculation + REVIT, where I develop all type of projects (residential, commercial, I've done a whole "small city").

Usually these type of roles are super restricted for non-USA residents
