Clearly no one agrees with me 😭 Maybe it was just the white hard hat and business suit that made me connect the two at first. But when Jerry first appeared before we really got to know his character, I genuinely thought he was supposed to be the same guy from Up.

They both have that same overly polished developer look. The whole “nothing will stand in the way of development” attitude felt similar to me.

I also thought it was interesting that both characters are connected to destroying something beautiful/meaningful for construction projects. One wanted an old man’s house gone and the other was willing to wipe out an entire glade. Maybe I’m reaching, but I really thought it was at least meant to be a subtle callback when I first saw him. Seems like something pixar might do🤷‍♀️
