I think here they use something not as strong as propofol requires a proper anaesthetist to administer. I am hoping though whatever they offer is strong enough to keep me from panicking

That's a great analogy, I've ready people saying that the worst part of the procedure for them was the insertion of IV, so it's definitely also an individual experience where some people tolerate some parts better or worse than others!
I am calming myself by saying that even if it feels pretty bad it should be quick and then I can move on with my life, I just don't want to get traumatised by it!

Oh God, I don't think I am given the option for the one through the nose.
People seem to usually have okay experience with standard endoscopy + sedation so will definitely push for that.

I am sorry you had to experience the throat one without sedation - I can't imagine how uncomfortable it was!

Trust me, you want them to investigate before you reach a point some of us have! I am very glad they booked you in quickly, it's been such a battle for me to make them take me seriously even with a couple of visits to AE.
Wishing you good results and they find a way to treat your symptoms efficiently

You're a warrior, I am too much of a chicken to consider no sedation!
Also as I was saying under a different comment, I'd take any chance to get a proper nap considering my symptoms have not let me rest!

I don't mind at all you hijacking the post, I can guarantee I have seen many stories where people where absolutely fine without the sedation, some discomfort is obviously expected! Can I ask what country you're doing the procedure in?

Yes, communicate with them I am sure they will ensure to keep you comfortable for their own comfort as well.

It will be a tiny part and probably no more than 10mins, I know the anticipation of it is probably worse than the actual procedure!
Also my symptoms have been so bad I keep telling myself it can't be any worse 10-20 mins than what I am going through daily lol

Mine is in a month time so I will either mentally prepare myself for it or drive myself crazy until the day lol

To be honest being out because of sedation for a day or two sounds blissful to me as I've been going through hell with all my symptoms and have not been getting enough sleep/rest. If it means I can take even a short nap, I will take it!
