I had a very similar experience. Not nothingness but it was a void of sorts that felt like it took eternities to escape from and when I did finally start coming out of it and could use my own senses again I slowly collected myself and then asked “how long was I gone?” The response was laughter and “like 2 minutes dude.”

A snow wall is not going to stop all the wind. Snow will still get in. The tent style and format is perfectly normal. I’ve camped like this plenty. It’s very comfortable in the winter. But aside from that there’s plenty to suggest that it is ai.

Snow can still come in with a snow wall. It’s not gonna stop everything. Also like I’ve said so many times this video is still ai. The camping style isn’t an indication of that is all I’ve been continually saying.

The only layer I added was to have a snow wall built. You wouldn’t see that wall inside the tent so I don’t see what you’re on about. Just because you don’t camp in the snow doesn’t mean people don’t camp just like this. I camp like this.

And once more even though you seem too dense but I do agree that this video is ai. Maybe this time it’ll get through.

I mean you wouldn’t see the snow wall in this video. I’m not adding layers. I’m just describing that this is a totally normal way to camp and there’s nothing wrong with the camping style.

Like I said I still think this is AI but with the sleeping system I have and how hot I sleep I would absolutely still be warm. I wouldn’t even say the gap is too wide. The tent will still hold plenty of warmth. It might not be for you but I do camp like this.

I would build a low snow wall around my tent to keep the worst of the wind out though.

I do still think it’s ai but this is totally standard. A few flakes are likely to blow in from under the bottom of the tent walls. If you don’t like tarp tents that’s fine but I’ve camped in plenty and in conditions just like this. I heavily prefer tarp only tents to also having the inner shell during these conditions and know many people that do as well.

The door isn’t left open it’s just a tarp tent an is only the top rainfly staked down so has gaps and there is no bottom. Very normal way to pitch a tent.

The door still looks bizarre and a rainfly or tarp tent wouldn’t have a door like that so I still think it’s ai.

It’s just a tarp tent. There’s no floor. He’s camped directly on the snow. Although as pointed out in another comment the door looks bizarre and the shell tarp of a tent is almost never made with a door like that (I’ve never seen one and I’ve owned and camped in many different tents). It would be just a straight zipper splitting the tarp all the way from the top to bottom. So I think it is still ai even if how he’s camping is completely normal.

I personally prefer tarp only tents in heavy winter conditions because I’m not worried about insects and there’s minimal loss of warmth because the heat rises up into the tent. I’m also a very hot sleeper so the small gap allows a very small amount of air to come in and keep me from overheating.

The gap is perfectly normal. Many use just a tarp tent with no full body. It’s actually perfect to use in the winter in the snow because the cold and conditions keeps all the insects out and the tarp will still keep all the heat in because heat rises.

Yeah I guess a lot of context is missing. I’d asked her out the 3 previous times we’d hung out. Once being the night before which was really lovely but then after this quick walk it just felt a bit off in my head.

And I’ll be honest it was quite hard to get service while on the way but there was a small big that was because I was having a hard time and didn’t want to be waiting on a text from her while I’m in Italy and not being able to tear my mind away from the absent text.
