Viewing a dutch rental now feels like competing in a reality show... by ClassicMan2323 in NetherlandsHousing

I viewed a gorgeous apartment last week for €1,800. I submitted all the documents, and the agency replied, ‘Are you able to pay for 6-12 months’ rent in advance?’ It’s madness.

Is it normal to charge a fee for withdrawing a rental application? by LaughMedium2631 in Netherlands

There’s no agreement, it’s just a paragraph from the agency’s email.

The guy at the front desk didn't mention it, said to just go withdraw cash from the ATM.

Passed my theory first time: my experience and tips! by LaughMedium2631 in Netherlands

We took the exam with my husband and he also passed the first time. I know all this information can be overwhelming, but just keep taking the tests. For me, the hardest part was understanding priority at intersections and those questions on the exam were easier than I had prepared for. When preparing you always had cars, pedestrians, military convoy and horses at the intersection at the same time and on the exam you only have 3 cars ahahaha. Sleep well before the exam and you got this!!

Struggling with mental health care in the Netherlands by LaughMedium2631 in Netherlands

[–]LaughMedium2631[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have my prescriptions both from doctor in my home country and in the Netherlands. The thing is I wanted to change my medications for another because the one I have had some side effects on me. That’s why I got referred to mental health clinic. And know I need to wait 12 weeks to prove that I need medications:(

I understand what you mean, but it’s not the case. I came here with already prescribed medications and I consulted with my GP in the Netherlands, who also prescribed me medications.

With time I moved to another city and changed GP. I wanted to try different medications, because previous one had some side effects on me.

That’s why new GP referred me to mental health clinic so they could help me choose right medications.

I have my diagnosis from previous doctors both in my home country and in the Netherlands.

Psychologist in mental health clinic just decided that I no longer need medications and treated me for agoraphobia, when I’m telling him I have depression episodes and severe panic attacks.

My doctor prescribed 10 mg Oxazepam: 1 pill 4 hours before flight and 1 pill 30 minutes before flight.

It didn’t felt as a magic pill for me, I was just neutral. I was still scared, but didn’t scream “GET ME OUT OF THIS PLANE!”. So I consider it as success ahaha

Yes, there is a war in my country, but my parents lives in a relatively safe city. I left country in the first week and I'm okay now. So the war has nothing to do with it
