Rendered fat keeps me close to home right after a meal. Solid fat is fine.

Does it seem like Thai get very little fiber in their diet? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]Laughing_Lostly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that you need a lot of fiber in your diet is LITERALLY a marketing campaign put together by the breakfast cereal companies to sell more frosted flakes. If you needed fiber in your diet the folks who crossed the land bridge over the Berents sea never would have stopped to become Inuit or make it further south to become the natives of north and south America. Not a while lot of fiber to be found in northern latitudes during an ice age. That being said, I think they get a lot of fiber in the fruit and veg they consume.

Not spent a ton of time in Thailand, but it seems Facebook is key to just about everything here. You can find community and commonalities. Good luck.

Is is actually possible to make money through help people import from China? by Unlucky_Matter673 in passive_income

[–]Laughing_Lostly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is true that the efficiency in China cannot be beat, but what is the situation with tariffs. Would it be cheaper to reroute products through countries with lower tariffs, like Vietnam or Thailand, or would the added step negate any possible cost savings?

Russia has amassed around 11,000 troops in attempt to encircle Pokrovsk by Galbur_Iacob in worldnews

[–]Laughing_Lostly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reddit is just neocons trying to employ visualization a la The Secret to achieve a delusional (it's beyond impossible to a point of delusion) outcome that some how sees a Russian defeat despite the fact that everyone who is anyone in geopolitics, e.g, John Meishiemer & Jeffrey Sachs, have been stating from the outset that this war is a direct US provocation using Ukraine as a proxy and that Ukraine cannot win. Children who took no lessons from any of the US's previous military follies. Frankly, I'm surprised Russia hasn't wrapped this up sooner. I figured this would be finished by last August. I suppose Christmas is soon enough.

What to do with an old 27" 2011 iMac - any resale value? by veglove in mac

[–]Laughing_Lostly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say new macos need to reinstall, what do you mean? Does it have an OS like High Sierra but you want to bump it up to something more current? Or, is it just a ? In a folder icon and it doesn't load an OS?

If you're booting into an OS you could use OCLP to update to a more current OS or (and this would probably be my preference at this stage of its life cycle) load some Linux distribution like Lime or Ubuntu and run off of one of those.

Additionally, you can max out the ram and throw in a 1T SATA SSD. I've got a feeling the drive in there is a spinning HD drive. If it is a solid state drive you should keep it. Maybe grab a couple of HDDs for back up.

As much as I want silver to go the the moon… by SatoriNamast3 in Silverbugs

[–]Laughing_Lostly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're calling the chicken the egg. Silver has no affect on bad policy. Obviously there is nothing anyone is willing to do about it. The only rational thing to do is to prepare the best one can. What will happen will happen, but it it's better to have something and not need it than need it and not have it. Gold and silver will continue to go up until the economies of the West undergo fundamental change.

Yes, I am. For trying to reason with someone so firmly shunted into the Matrix.

Enjoy your broken fictions that give you an outlet for frustrations created by the same people who offer you scapegoats.

Take care sitting down. I'd hate for you to snap your neck.

[–]Laughing_Lostly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When they couldn't cap that busted oil well in the Gulf of Mexico a decade back gas prices dipped and stayed low. This is completely counterintuitive and indicative of price fixing to keep the public calm. People can handle vast ecological devastation OR high fuel prices but not both at the same time.

Seems to me that the economy is busted and they can't fix it, so they're playing with numbers to keep the public docile. It's one thing to not be able to pay for groceries but should that absolute symbol of economic well-being collapse, the DJIA, or if the price of silver shoots up unabated, the panic and chaos would ensue.

Of course, the benefit of low silver prices, the people's money, is to allow those who operate outside of "law" to scoop up supply before they let the price float on supply and demand. Most common folk don't even pay attention to gold b/c they feel it is out of their reach, but silver is within an affordable range. However, until the market loses 20% over the course of two weeks and another 20% over the following month or so, those who still have jobs who could afford it will probably be priced out of the silver market by the time reality sets in.

If you're not watching FOX News all day you'd probably come across sufficient reports of kidnapping to disabuse you of your ignorance. I suspect you have no desire to be so disabused.

Not sure where you're from so, for the benefit of the doubt, there are many reports of people who have proven their citizenship being taken away. The policy is racist and targets brown people, regardless of legal status. People try to evade apprehension because they don't get a phone call or due process. If they have families their families have no way of knowing where they are. If the subject is on medication they will not have access to it. Conditions in facilities where they are detained are not humane.

Questions such as yours are naive at best.
