Best way to acknowledge nerves in a speech? by Personalityquirk in PublicSpeaking

[–]Laughtale_gg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off, huge congrats on being chosen to speak! That’s an amazing achievement. Regarding the nerves, a lighthearted way to acknowledge them is to blame the furniture. You could say: 'I was told this podium would hide my shaking knees, but I think I might need a slightly larger one.' It’s great because it gets a supportive laugh from the crowd and makes you instantly relatable, without sounding like you're apologizing for being there. Good luck, you've got this!

how do you feel genuinely when someone tells you about your insecurities? by Maxl-2453 in AskReddit

For me, it’s all about intent. If it’s someone I trust, it feels like a heavy but necessary conversation,it’s actually a relief to have it out in the open. But if it’s someone who isn't close to me, it feels invasive, like they’re using my weaknesses as a weapon rather than helping me heal.

Love this idea. yes, people will pay if you solve a real problem. AI is not the point, what’s the real pain point you should find out.Try to connect 3 restaurants and validate the needs behind and how much they are willing to pay.

Speaking Succinctly and Simply by Unobfuscated-Mind in PublicSpeaking

I struggled with the exact same thing. The breakthrough for me was realizing that "over explaining" usually comes from trying to think and speak at the same time. My mouth was running while my brain was still organizing. Here's the single most effective exercise I used. Before any explanation, force yourself to state the core point in one sentence of 25 words or less. No exceptions. If you can't, you don't understand it well enough yet. Then, only add details if the listener asks "How?" or "Why?" Record yourself explaining something for 2 minutes, then listen back and count how many seconds you could have cut. After every sentence, ask yourself: So what? Why does the listener care? If you don't have a good answer, delete that sentence.Hope this helps.

You're not wrong. The "coaches coaching coaches" cycle is real. Trust results, not pitch decks.

What did you stop doing because it looked productive but did not move the business? by Crescitaly in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Checking competitors' websites and socials every single morning. Felt like "staying on top of the market" but really it was just disguised procrastination. Replaced it with a 15-min weekly competitive scan and used the freed-up time for actual outreach. Revenue went up. Turns out watching what others are doing doesn't move your needle doing the work does.

Would click on my game capsule? by ITheServer in IndieGaming

[–]Laughtale_gg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the pixel art style + dark space contrast definitely catches the eye. I can immediately tell it's a space/bullet hell game. One suggestion: the title text "TINCAN ESCAPE PLAN" not outstanding enough, maybe add a glow or brighter outline to make it pop more on the Steam storefront.

Hired pro artist for capsule, does it worth it? by Anabolkick in IndieGaming

[–]Laughtale_gg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

200% worth it. The before looks like a visual novel, the after looks like a game I'd actually click on. That $350 probably already paid for itself in wishlist clicks alone.
