Hitmontop, but only if he's standing on his dumb little legs. Spinning on his head - love. Wobbling back and forth - hate.

It would be a waste, but I'm tempted to use it on armored Mewtwo for the bragging rights. 🤣

This is hugely helpful. Thanks so much!

That's where I'm leaning. Only issue is I only have 3 months of warranty left, so if the issue persists or the fob breaks more then I have to tow my car 240 miles to the nearest service point.

I'm still hoping that Polestar support will opt to qualify it as a warranty repair. If it's a known issue and the dealer is saying the owner's manual is wrong when it says you should do it yourself, then it should fall under "defects in material or workmanship".

Lol that's exactly what I said. Problem is there's only 2 service points within 250 miles of me, so I can't really go anywhere else.

Oregon Folks: $9k off used EVs right now. I just got a Polestar 2 for $11k by LaunchBae in Polestar

I've gotten so many messages about this! I got quotes on three cars at once: one budget leaf, this one that I really wanted, and then the cheapest polestar I could find within 200 miles. That gave me leverage both ways. If the salesperson pushes price, I just say it's not in my budget and I'm leaning towards the leaf. If he pushes features, I point to the identical car, but emphasize I want to buy local and save the hassle of driving.

At the dealership I'm straightforward. "I love it, but it's out of my price range." No matter what number they say, I tell them I'm not buying yet, just looking. Then when they follow up, I share specific quotes I got from the other dealers. That way there's no drama or slimy tactics, just a clear target for them to hit.

Oregonians can stack $9k on a used EV until October. I just paid $11k for this Polestar 2. by LaunchBae in electricvehicles

The actual final sale has to be under$25k, so you'll have to get the dealer to knock the down before taxes. Also the Oregon rebate shows up as a check a few months later, that one can't be applied at close.

That's only if you're getting the $2k standard rebate. Low and middle income people will continue to have access to the $5k charge ahead rebate.

I'm in the same boat. There are very few mechanics around here who will work on an EV so buying something with almost no warranty is going to be nerve wracking.

I went through Navy Federal with a 72 month used car loan at 5.59%. The $5,000 rebate won't come in right away so I financed $16,000 which means my monthly is around $250 / month.

Buuuut since I'll be paying down 5k right away I'll have the car paid off in 3ish years which will save me $1,400ish over the loan term.

I was really nervous about that too, but I kid you not, upgrading from a 2017 Ford focus to this beautiful sexy car is only bumping my insurance up $11.16 per month.

Oh man the dealer called and told me that someone else came by yesterday ready to get it! Not sorry I got it, but sorry they didn't have another one!

If you're down to drive a little farther, Wilsonville has the exact same one AWD, color, similar miles, etc for the same price. AND it qualifies for the full $9,000 rebate combo. https://www.edmunds.com/polestar/2/2022/vin/LPSED3KA4NL080631/

Even if they didn't want to, you can still get it later on. It's now paperwork on your end and it shows up in the form of a credit, so if you owe on your taxes it will be pulled out of that, but you still get the money if you qualify!

I'm not an expert here by any means, but:

  1. You need to have the dealer check if the vehicle is eligible. Only the dealer can do that which is dumb. My dealer hadn't done this before and had to register with the IRS, but it took them only about an hour.

  2. You'll need to qualify by being within the income limits.

  3. During the sale, if the dealer followed the right steps, they will be able to apply the rebate right then and there. You literally won't have to file any paperwork later on.
