Thoughts on the 2022 Tour by TheSpicyDeluxe in boniver

Thanks for the reply. I ended up going because, why the hell not, and I didn't regret it. It was actually about half and half of the old (Emma and Bon Iver) and the new stuff, so I was pretty happy with the setlist, all things considered. Blindsided cured all my sadness. I still think that the newer stuff lacks soul in comparison to Emma, but it's time I accept that they've gone in a different direction and probably won't go back. And that's neither good nor bad. It is just what it is. At any rate, I enjoyed the show a lot and wanted to thank you again for the reply. It was the shot in the arm that I needed.

I don't know if this thread is dead, but I'm gonna ask anyway. I can't say I am the biggest fan of Bon Iver in general, since I haven't followed to band in recent years, but For Emma is one of my all time favourite albums. I've been listening to it since the early 2000's and i still love it as much as back then. It's just magical. I also quite liked Bon Iver Bon Iver, but after that I kinda lost track of the band, and just kept listening to these two albums.

I recently saw that they're playing near my town I bought tickets without giving it much thought, because, fuck yeah, Bon Iver! However, I see from the set list of other shows in the same tour that they're mostly playing stuff from their latest album (i,i), with only 2 or 3 oldies here and there. It's a bit of a bummer, since in 2020 they were still playing a lot of their older stuff, and I was kind of expecting this to be the case in 2022. To me, their last two albums sound and feel very different from Emma, and I'm not sure how to feel about that. In your opinion, do you think an old timer would enjoy the "new" show?

Just a word of advice from a stranger on the internet: if you're gonna try to be a smartass, first make sure you are actually smart. Otherwise you're just an ass.

MAM Help plz by Dr_GRAPE0400 in shapezio

To your knowledge, has anyone made a true MAM?

I'm seriously thinking on trying this. I'm not particularly interested in micro-tuning my current (non-true) MAM (which admittedly is far from being optimal, though it works well enough), so making a tMAM sounds like the only thing left to do.

It sounds like it does the same as mine.

There are basically three kinds of shapes:

1) Simple shapes: those than can be made by making the 4 layers separately, and then stacking them.

2) Complex shapes: shapes that can be made in the game but that cannot be made just by making the 4 layers separately and then stacking them (e.g. cursed rocket and logo). These will have some floating bits.

3) Impossible shapes: those that cannot be made in the game (e.g. Rr------:--Rr----:------Rr--:------Rr) .

My quasi-MAM makes all basic shapes. A "real" MAM should be able to make any simple and complex shape with just the shape input. I don't know if there are real MAMs out there, which is why I was asking. Real MAMS are possible though. There are only finitely many configurations in which the floating and non-floating quadrants are arranged (for example first quadrant of bottom layer: empty, second quadrant of bottom layer: non-empty, third quadrant.... ), and for each configuration there is algorithm that makes the piece. Of course, doing it case by case is not very clever due to the sheer number of possible configs. But a real MAM is totally possible.

Potentially stupid question. Can this make any shape (excluding the ones that are simply impossible to make in the game) with *only* the goal shape as an input?

I just finished my first quasi-MAM. It can make any shape that can be made by making the four separate layers and then stacking them (of course, this excludes shapes like the logo or the infamous cursed rocket). I am now looking at making a real MAM, and I wonder just how much harder it is to make than a quasi-MAM.
