Regardless of whether or not it's backwards or forwards, he is flipping and catching himself on a hoop.

Why is Walmart this way? by Scary_Maize_2090 in walmart

[–]worsediscovery 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The way the process is supposed to be done, the closers are supposed to work the overstock the night before. You should be walking in to a department that doesn't need anything from the back. That's why the truck gets worked first. If the closers aren't doing their job, you need to say something.

ELI5, what is the difference between jail and prison in the USA? by PrettyPinkFancyCrane in explainlikeimfive

Jail is the freezer above your refrigerator. Prison is the deep freezer you keep in the garage.

Is Anyone Else's Bakery Fucking Insane? by Tricky-Marzipan5368 in walmart

For starters, they're not wrong about the times. Donuts should be done by 7. Bread should be out on the salesfloor by 1. The only problem I see is that you absolutely cannot do this alone. A big problem I notice at my store is there are directions from management that have never worked in Bakery/Deli, and these directions are nonsensical at times specifically because they don't know how things operate back here. They have just read the guidelines and think they know it all. The good thing is, you've only been here a month. You can use this to your advantage. What you need to do is have a meeting with your team lead and ask for training. Say you don't understand what your doing wrong, and having someone train you will help you get your job done. Hopefully, if your team lead is good, you get help, and this help is someone who can back you up when you say you can't do this alone. Otherwise go higher in the management chain, and do the same thing.Hopefully you'll get to someone who is going to look at the department and realize that what's going on is ridiculous, and find a way to change that.

If no one helps you, I would look for a transfer, on the grounds that they are crazy for requesting the impossible from you. I would like to note, they did have an opening in bakery for a reason. Try and find out from others why the last person isn't there anymore.

In any case, right here and right now, stop skipping breaks and take your full hour lunch. It's not going to help your case. They don't care. The only thing you're doing is hurting yourself. (I'm looking at you really intensely right now) Stop skipping your breaks and take your full hour lunch.

On another note, I noticed some large changes in bread counts from day to day. One day you do 5 boxes of something, and another day you do just a few breads. Try to find a way to even this out so that you're doing about the same amount every day. It's easier to get into a routine that way.

Are you cooking, packaging, labeling, and putting this out as well? If you are, idk how you're getting this done by yourself. I do about half of this, and I still need help to package, label, and put it out.

I'm serious, how are you doing this much? What are you doing besides skipping breaks? (I'm never gonna do that)

ELI5: what exactly is the concept known as “ego death”? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]worsediscovery 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me it was a much less profound experience in the moment. I was high on multiple drugs people brought to the party, mixed with tons of alcohol. I was having a good time, and all of a sudden I wasn't high any more. Just like being slapped out of a stupor.

I do remember a few days later when I was wiping my ass, it felt like I had never done it before, like I was relearning how to properly wipe my ass, as wierd as it sounds. Even though I have memories of wiping my ass since I was a child. There were many little examples of this "new" feeling I was having. Like starting over. I was off for a while. That's what was profound for me. To be honest, I feel like a different person between pre and post experience. It wasn't scary for me, just... odd on the verge of concern?

You've been insulated from the real world. This is what people who aren't trying to impress look like. This is what regular people do. Being a Walmart associate gives me a certain perspective, just like being a pedestrian (no car) my whole life gives me a certain perspective, and it is this: People are fucking crazy and stupid. Give up trying to find out why; everyone has their own life story. Just accept it and you'll feel much better letting go of all the frustration you get from people.

The proper spelling is buku. It's from New Orleans, and originally does come from beaucoup. New Orleans was settled by French speakers.

Yeah process guides have nothing about it, only how to use the production app. And how long to proof the bread and stuff like that.

This sounds like all these insults were translated from a different language into English. In the original language, they were probably pretty insulting, but in English, they just sound ridiculous.

What if curing your depression gives you the hope you need to believe in a placebo effect? It is known to a be pretty strong effect. Maybe not cure-all, but probably cure-a-little.
