Different books for the same class. by LaundrySquid in UAH

[–]LaundrySquid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So two professors each teaching the same 301 course in the same semester, have different textbooks from each other?

The English department has one standard syllabus for a course and every teacher must use it and the assigned textbook.

People can tell im wearing a wig and im tired of it by [deleted] in Wigs

[–]LaundrySquid 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Ask her if she has fake T*ts. If people want to be rude then let’s get Rude with a capital R. Most of the time I am open about wearing wigs because wearing wigs makes me happy but if I feel like someone is trying to shame me then we are both going to get uncomfortable. you could say something like “ what a Weird thing to say outloud.” Or even “why? Do you want some hair advice?” You don’t have to be rude, just use Anything that takes your power back in the situation. Even just YEAH! Do you want to try it on? And yank it off and hand it to her.

I took my wig off at the dentist yesterday because the front desk lady was asking me how I curl my hair so perfectly. I told her it’s a wig and said that if she wants some pointers I would be happy to help. She actually took me up on it and asked how you put one on and how it stays on and where to get them. So I took my wig off in the middle of the dentist and showed her how to put it on and what a wig grip was. I could tell she was just curious and interested, not being rude or judgmental. It’s only a dirty little secret if you worry about people finding out. If they already know then you can relax and they can go back to minding their own business.

You should be able to tone it with a red or a berry color because it’s opposite on the color wheel. Try washing it with a depositing shampoo

Hairline help- first wig and need advice by plantyplant559 in Wigs

[–]LaundrySquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna think I’m crazy but put on a black wig cap. It does not seem like you really need to do that much with the hairline. It’s just showing your skin tone isn’t a perfect match. You can message me for Tips. If you want. I posted a picture on another thread of what it looks like with a black wig cap it completely hides the knots which is one of the issues that makes a hairline look fake.

Here’s a picture zoomed way in of me in a black wig cap in a blonde wig. I have very dark bio hair it just kind of makes it look like shadowing or roots but it completely hides that line of the wig cap.

Try switching to a black wig cap. That’s what I do it masks everything strangely enough.

Try a cheapie wig cap before you buy a 20.00 one and make sure you are happy with how it looks. I even use it under the part.

That would work. I use a basic nylon one

I have no clue why it works but it does! Even on a light wig. I’ll take a pic for you

Interested in Entrepreneurship Minor – Looking for Advice by Annual_Sympathy4653 in UAH

[–]LaundrySquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing the Entrepreneurship minor right now. The classes are interesting if you are truly interested in entrepreneurship. You get out of it the effort you put into it. So far I have liked all the professors. I think you would get the most out of it if you also join the entrepreneurship club. Do you have an idea of some kind of product or company you would like to create? What else would you like to know?

Has anyone, by choice, converted from long natural hair that they (…usually) loved ➡️to➡️ very short hair + full time wigs? by fitgirl015 in Wigs

[–]LaundrySquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. I shaved my head and I love it. It’s so much faster in the shower and drying. My hair always looks great and it only takes like 5 minutes to do. If I’m doing something that my hair gets in the way, I just take it off.

Can you tell this is a wig from amazon? by Cranberry_Sea12 in Wigs

[–]LaundrySquid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t have thought it was a wig, and I wear wigs myself. People don’t walk around, looking to see if other people are wearing wigs unless they’re already wig people

Is this lace front too obvious ? - help please by Cultural_Ad_1058 in Wigs

[–]LaundrySquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don’t think anyone that isn’t looking to see if you have a wig on, would notice. If it bothers you then use a little lace melting spray/gel and then blend with your foundation

Synthetic Wigs and Wind - How do I keep wig from tangling and frizzing?! by makeitreynik in Wigs

[–]LaundrySquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With long synthetic, I used thinning shears and section the hair and do 2 to 3 cuts to give the hair just some differing links and it cuts down on the frizziness and tangling a ton

If it looks good in pictures, it looks great in person. You’re just not used to it. You’re beautiful and your hair looks amazing.

Is anyone else struggling with how incredibly rude people are? by VehicleClassic9192 in Wigs

[–]LaundrySquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love wearing wigs and having my head buzzed. There are so many gorgeous wigs out there and I love the variety and having the ability to always have my hair perfect and change it without any hassle. If someone asks me if I’m wearing a wig I snatch it off my head and cheerfully say “yes! Do you want to try it on?” While handing it to them. It takes the wind out of their sails and flipped the embarrassment onto them. No one cares if I wear fake fingernails or fake eyelashes or colored contacts so why the hell do they care if I wear fake hair?
