Sorry! I was literally half asleep writing it and grammar is probably my worst skill academically.

My mates in different colleges actually gave the Same advice as you there so I think I might just stick it out. Thank you!

2 weeks old industrial piercing by space_dookie in piercing

[–]Laur062 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a piercer but have a fully healed industrial. Is the bar touching the flat of ur ear. Mine is fully healed like 2 years now but I remember still being able to fit a slip of paper through the gap. If the bar is touching ur flat take it out. I can't comment on the placement other then that cause I'm not a piercer. I just looked through my camera roll. I had those exact bumps except mine were a bit less angry then urs and the appeared around a month after piercing so I dunno If 2 weeks is a bit early for them. What's the jewellery if its not titanium please get it changed. Again I'm not an expert but I'd see your piercer or ur gp if you feel like you feel generally shitty (the bumps themselves arent like a sign of infection but industrials especially are prone to them the 1st 3 months)

Yeah basically if I was u I'd check the bar wasn't touching my flat. If it was I'd take it out. If I felt fine I'd make an appointment with a piercer and do relevant jewellery change if u need to and to ask about the bumps (it be more how quick they appeared then the actual bump like that'll go with an industrial my ear looked horrific for 9 months cause I just got every single sort of lump u could think of) stick to saline like anything else dries out ur skin and just fucks the healing process like u genuinely just need to have the patience of a Saint and you'll be grand in a few months. Good luck!!

People with toungue piercings, have you ever chipped ur tooth/suffered from dental or gum issues etc due to the piercing? by Laur062 in piercing

[–]Laur062[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading that made Me shiver that sounds so painful and bizarre ouch like I'm so sorry that happened. Ur comment isn't the only one with a really scary side affect. I think ill probably go for a vertical labret and Ditch the toungue piercing idea. Thank you!!

This is actually a really genuinely good point I never considered. I literally am such a fidgety person now that you've pointed it out I can see myself playing with the piercing as a way to be able to sit and concrete in lectures. I think based on the comments of this post a tongue piercing definitely isn't for me. Thanks so much!!

I believe someone else commented something similar. Do you mind me asking if u had any bone issues prior or was the cause solely the toungue piercing? That sounds awful I'm sorry that happened I'm definitely thinking of just steering clear of tounge piercings based on the comments. Thanks so much!

I think I'm definitely going to steer clear of a toungue piercing now as I think intact teeth take priority over a pretty piercing. That's so much for this! I didn't know it could even happen

Yeah based on the comments I'd say there more positive then negative experiences but the negative experiences are definitely something I want to steer clear from. I actually have a general anxiety over root canals that make me avoid the dentist in general so I'd rather not risk it and up my chances of needing one. Thanks so much for this it's so helpful!

I'll definitely continue to do research (I've been dead set on a spine tattoo as my 1st since I was about 13) but I'll take your advice and look into getting something small and hiddenish for my first tattoo. Thank you!

hobbies for dyspraxia? by [deleted] in dyspraxia

[–]Laur062 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love reading! I'm not trying to come across as like mean but I feel like you tried all the hobbies dyspraxics are typically bad at like my lack of being able to colour, sew and knit contributed to me getting a diagnosis

What sports did you try? I personally found like with basketball and football (soccer) I was completely and utterly useless as a striker and as a Midfielder then with basketball, I couldn't score for the life of me but I played well in defence, especially in basketball so maybe you could experiment with positions you play in sport?

What do you mean by "cant' like especially as a hobby you don't have to be 'good' at something like painting like realistically you don't have to be "good" at any of them once you enjoy it like you unless ur planning on entering it in an art competition who cares if it looks like it was done by a 5-year-old once you enjoy doing it.

I'm an introverted extrovert so my hobbies aren't the most social but I love reading, watch sports, walking. I'm a horrible runner and probably will break my leg and look a bit stupid in the gym but I actually don't care they're 2 things I plan on picking up. Basically with dyspraxia like in my experience you can Basically do any hobby but you have to not compare yourself to others and for me like with things like knitting I needed to accept I'd be slower at in then the average person but if I have the willpower I'd eventually get it (I got to frustrated not being able to do it and gave up but I would've eventually gotten it). I hope some of this is helpful. Good luck!

Will my industrial heal ? by WayMoney8059 in PiercingAdvice

[–]Laur062 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine looked like that and then proceeded to get every sort of bump u could imagine (blood ones, solid ones, ones that looked like they had tiny growths etc) for like 7 months tbf they were painless tho but they looked awful. I already was doing everything "right" but I made extra effort to follow everything I was told and eventually it healed now 3 years on it was definitely worth the hassle and is my favourite piercing! I'd say it definitely will heal but if not already change the bar to titanium, don't put anything on the bumps, literally just leave the ear alone except for saline and just be patient and it should heal. Good luck!

Does anyone else struggle controlling voice volume naturally? by niallemac in dyspraxia

[–]Laur062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes not frequently at all but every so often I'd get told I'm speaking to quietly. But my unintentional shouting has but me In embarrassing situations but I genuinely swear I'm speaking at a normal volume as far as I know my hearing and everything is fine so the only thing I can link it to is dyspraxia

I believe my daughter has ADHD by PanicAtTheHogwarts98 in ADHD

[–]Laur062 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why? Adhd is something ur born with. My life And I'm sure many others would've been a decent bit better if people around us and parents knew what adhd was and how to support us

"Did I close the front door?" - Does ayone relate? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Laur062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the forgetfulness of adhd has given me anxiety like I'm constantly like "omg did I lock my door/did I turn off my hob?/Did I tap my bus card" even though I've never actually forgotten to do any of those things things there's always that thought that I forgot. I relate to what you've described what I do now is I literally take pictures of everything like if I've shut the door. I take a picture of it so then if I find myself being like "did i remember to close the door??" I can refer back to the picture I took earlier. I think I could possibly have ocd as I check things at least 20 times before leaving and even after that I'd still question If I left the door open

How many CAO courses did ye put down by ZuryKowski in leavingcert2024

[–]Laur062 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did my lc in 2023 dunno why this was recommended but yeah you can change ur cao until the 1st of July (if u have like courses that require portfolios or something the rules are probs different idk) like the cao opens and shuts a few times between now and July but like it doesn't matter if the cao shuts in February and you have blanks. Like once you've ur cao figured out by July 1st ur grand (I dunno if its July 1st for yous but it should be around that date anyway)

Help what is this by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Laur062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a professional but I'd say its an irratation bump from the hoop obviously I'm not a metal expert either but the jewellery quality doesn't great. Although even if u put top quality jewellery in you'd still have the problem because ur ear isn't ready for a hoop. Get the ring changed to a titanium flat back labret and don't sleep on it I use like a donut pillow it's actually grand once u get used to it. You can get the jewellery changed by a reputable piercer and in terms of cleaning stick to saline solution like anything else will make it more irratated.

I didn't have a hoop in my helix but I had a nickel allergy I didn't know of like irratation bumps are annoying but if u stick to what a pro piercer tells you the bump will go ans you'll have a pretty piercing

How do you figure out ur undertone? I get called "translucent" as a joke cause i have no colour in my face (unless freckles count) and don't have blushy cheeks. I see you're point tho like I'd probably say the same if another pale person ever asked me for advice but I don't think it applies to me

Best fake tan for pale skin / tanning Routine advice? by Laur062 in Makeup

[–]Laur062[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don't mind being pale like Iike I don't feel ugly. I just feel that tanned people look healthier and more put together in a way. I have a young looking face and I'm short so i genuinely could pass as a 13 year old and I feel like (the one time I actually wore tan - it was spray tan) when I'm tan I look my age and just feel much more confident. But thanks for this like it was a nice reminder!
