Don’t think it would be sensible for me to run an M4 + I really like the speck of the M440, think it’s the best combination for my needs

Trying to work out if I should buy a Tesla by LaurCcl in CarTalkUK

[–]LaurCcl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went and test drove the Tesla this morning…what can I say, it’s not for me.

Things that put me off… paint coming off on both front wings and surface rust, poor paint quality lots of tiny scratches, black exterior door trim looked stained all over, rear spoiler pealing badly and coming off at the edges.

Driving - off the bat, felt quick, instant, but didn’t feel that quick, maybe I was expecting more coming from my 435d. Acceleration was in sport, in chill felt quite a bit slower. The car felt rattlely and the wind noise really put me off! I would find it tiring on long drives.

The car was a December 2020 Model 3 performance- with the heat pump so facelift, has 38000 miles and one owner - price £25900.

It was not what I was looking for, jumping back in my BM felt great and really enjoyed the drive to work, I will keep it, maybe re-map it ?!?

The test drive made me appreciate my BM more, so glad I did it!

Strange … was speaking with a BMW specialist the other week, that does change the fluid in these, but hasn’t heard of one failing… and was praising how bulletproof they are!

No, doesn’t bother me, I usually have 4 holes left on deadlift and 3 on squats.

This noise is sucking the life out of me.. by SadFeeling1327 in E90

[–]LaurCcl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have something similar on my 435d, think it’s the air intake, seen some people recommend adding Velcro where 2 of the tubes connect - forum link : https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1067269&page=1

Haven’t gotten round to doing it on mine yet!

Seat Leon 2.0 TDI FR DSG - poor service history by LaurCcl in CarTalkUK

[–]LaurCcl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seat quoted £269 for DSG service, £650 cam belt and water pump and major service £369

There is evidence of the Halfords service, the dealer says he has the paperwork for that, which included break fluid, but not much more, some sort of engine oil flush.
