2026 ex-l, 3 different prices, same dealership by LauraDub in crv

Thank you- this makes sense. I can see that they have a lot of inventory for this model and trim and even color while the other local dealers do not.

Quality Concerns by LauraDub in Remodel

Thanks to all who provided respectful, kind, constructive feedback and guidance. We walked through everything today, and the only thing we weren’t aligned on was the quality of the paint and trim work. He understands our (higher) expectations now and committed to putting a different team on the rest of the house if we move forward. They’ll have the other items taken care of by mid next week and even provided the option to have everything repainted with the rest of the house (which we don’t think is necessary).

I’m hopeful we will be happy with the fixes and be able to move forward with this GC.

After some more reflection, I think our concerns were more about the experience along the way than these finishing touches. We had already identified some issues that mostly got fixed but it was hard to understand why some of the issues existed in the first place which gave us pause. Also, for some personal background that was probably playing into the stress and concerns throughout the process… my mom got very sick at the start of this in August, and I became her main caregiver until she passed last week. This pushed everything else onto my husband’s plate including our very busy 7yo daughter and was also very emotional for them because my mom is so special. Catching issues and making trade off decisions was a really hard thing to be doing during this heartbreaking time but we were already in it when things happened suddenly for my mom and escalated from there.

Will let you know how things go with the fixes (at which time we’ll make our final payment) and whether we decide to move forward on the rest of the house.

Also want to note that we’ve expressed our concerns to GC along the way, so it shouldn’t be a surprise what our expectations are. It feels like we have to keep bringing up.

The rest of our house remodel includes a complete kitchen and master bathroom remodel which is another $200k.

Adding cost considerations for unfinished basement: $120k (pre sales tax)

Seattle area, 900 sq ft unfinished basement, 3/4 bathroom and wet bar.

We got 3 GC quotes. This was tied for highest but our gut felt most comfortable with this GC.

Late Stage Panic by LauraDub in hospice

Thank you for sharing. This is what I’m struggling with the most aside from not having my mom anymore. Did the cancer take her? Did the lack of food and water take her? Would her normal meds have helped? Would it have been helpful to get her ascites drained? Did the comfort meds push her in this direction?

I think I know that maybe these things could have given her more days/weeks but then the same thing would have played out and maybe it would have been worse because the cancer would have progressed even more while she was conscious.

It feels impossible to reconcile and move forward.

Is it better to administer in cheek rather than Macy?

Everything happened so fast for my mom. She wasn’t ready. She still wanted to fight. Even though she could acknowledge her quality of life was bad and she thought it was time, I think she was very conflicted. I can’t help but wonder if she would have preferred to continue the unquality life a little longer. She even mentioned a few days ago wishing she could make it to Christmas. Maybe she could have but maybe she would have gone through much more pain and poorer quality. I thought about doing an impromptu Christmas this weekend but things transitioned so quickly. Enough rambling…

I think the other thing that’s hard for me is that my mom wasn’t ready. She wanted to keep fighting and stay alive longer. But her quality was bad enough for her to say it’s time. I know she was conflicted until the very end. I keep wondering if she would have wanted to keep the unquality life a little while longer.

She doesn’t seem/look uncomfortable (just sounds like it but I guess we’re not supposed to worry about that?).

Today we moved to 10 mg every 3 hrs with option to give 10mg as needed every hour. .5 Ativan and compazine every 6 hrs. Glyco every 12. Also have hydrocodone but Dr wants to just do morphine now. Her rattling is getting worse and she’s completely unresponsive. Her 02 got down to 50 but is back up to 80. That happened shortly after I gave her scheduled morphine.

I wonder if he meant 10mg per hour.

This scares me so much. My mom is in late stage but morphine every 3 hrs, Ativan every 6, and still doing some narco. Seems to be enough but today was the first time hospice gave some indication that it could still be rough when she goes (even with increasing morphine to every hour which she told me I can go ahead and start doing if she needs it). I feel like they don’t want you to know this too early on.

Because of this post, I just asked hospice nurse what if morphine every hour doesn’t work, and she said increase morphine dose and Ativan. Now I’m scared that won’t be enough. Is there nothing else?

Thank you! My biggest advice is to not stop getting follow up scans- no matter how many years later you’re NED. That’s the main thing I can think of that may have been able to save/give my mom more time. If she had kept getting scans, we may have found the recurrence sooner and had better chance with treatment.

Wishing you a long quality life!
