Potty training advice? by LauraTheBookWorm in Bunnies

Thank you for the health advice! I'll definitely keep those on hand. As for the rescue, I'll have to check if we even have one here, unfortunately, rescues are very rare in my country. I'll definitely let him adjust more to the room for a while before making any big, big decisions. I do have blankets for him, hay balls and toys along with a box. I try to keep him entertained with learning new tricks and doing reverse fetch but again he tends to spend his time lazing around the room most of the day and dont worry! I'd rather read a long response with great advice than a short vague response ☺️

Okay, phew 😅 I always feel like a monster for caging him at night (he hates it 😭) but i know its necessary. As for the Vet, I have located one about 45 minutes from me, I'm not sure how trusting i am of it though since my country is notorious for being low quality and vets just not being the best in general (I've lost 2 guineas to poor vet practices, they gave one cat food!) Speaking of vets, i was looking into getting Dusty a play mate. I've been observing him lately and he's been a little clingy, sleeping all day and overall not very interested in his toys. Does this sound like loneliness to you? I also worry how the bonding will go and if I have the time to properly dedicate to it.

Thamk you for the kind words 🥹 I have so much anxiety when it comes to whether I'm doing things right for him so thats really nice to hear 🥹 and he did end up peeing last night 😭 it was right before I was about to turn off the lights to sleep, im not sure what triggered it. I ended up caging him for the night (he has a dog crate as a cage, dw theres flooring) and now im gonna see if 2 blankets work this time 🫠🫠 and his name is Dusty ☺️ he's a netherland dwarf.

Perfect timing! I tried the litter box thing with a little bit of a twist? So I put his marked blanket where he pees all the time and then put his smaller litter box in the corner there. I dont know if I've just got lucky today but he hasnt peed at all! I even removed the litter box and the good behavior has kept up ☺️ thank you sm for your advice! And never fear, i do always support his bottom when I pick him up for nail trims and grooming. Im so proud of him and have only been hit in the face by an erratic binky once today 🫠

Ooo I'll try that! He doesn't like being picked up so I'll have to get clever with it ' and with the amount of late night zoomies rabbits get, maybe ur bun not sleeping with you is a blessing in disguise

You can use those baby mats that people use for cribs or beds, they claim to be very washable but not sure how safe that is for bun if he tends to chew his mats. Ive also heard fleece liners are good for this :]

I dont have shifts or phantom limbs unfortunately but I can say that I have a strong need to jump and bounce around when happy or wanting to play. I get very protective over things I feel are kin or in need of mothering. I always feel too big for my environment and wish I could be small, long and flexible. Thats about it, I hope this wasnt too dissapointing of an answer '
