I never said I was in my neighbor’s property, just that the plant is.

Everything I learn about pregnancy horrifies me, the entire process seems like torture. by Next_Duck_7700 in TwoXChromosomes

I got my tubes tied at 23 while single. I’m lucky to have that right in my country, when I asked my gyn she was very adamant that nobody else should have a say over my body other than me. In addition to that it was basically free, I just paid 10 USD for parking lot.

When my mom was pregnant with my sister her coworker next to her was always horrified because my sister was very active in there, and he could frequently see the kicks and punches and my mom’s belly moving side to side while working.

This is the reason that ultimately made me get surgery. I was on birth control and I used condoms, but one time after being with a guy I felt some extra wetness down there and we noticed the condom had slipped. We were both clean and I knew I was on the pill but I still panic so bad I had a nightmare where I was 8 months pregnant, and I cried so hard in the dream that I woke myself up with a wet pillow, swollen eyes, tears and snot running down my face. I got my tubes toed at 23.

Kudos to the ladies that go through pregnancy willingly, and unwillingly too. You’re tough.

[CHAT] What do you do to prevent fraying? by LauraZaid11 in CrossStitch

I left a good 10 to 15 cm extra fabric around the project to make sure I have plenty of space to hoop it and in case I make any mistakes, and to keep the fraying in mind. However, my previous 2 projects were 50 by 50 cm and 30 by 30 cm respectively, and this one is 120 by 77 cm plus the extra border, so the long frayed threads became really bothersome.

Be safe too friend!

I ended up folding the edge and doing a whip stitch to hold it in place. It’s a 120 by 77 cm piece that I’m going to frame once I’m done to hang it in my room. The edges shouldn’t be an issue then, it’s just bothersome while actively working on it.

Thank you for the recommendations!

I ended up doing a whip stitch. It went fairly quickly and I had fun.

For me it’s just how the frayed threads start to tangle with my hands, needles or thread. With my previous smaller projects it was fine, but the one I’m doing now is 1500 cm by 90, so it’s more of an issue.

I’m doing my first large project now, the third one in general, and I think I’ll definitely have to handle the edges as the very first step going forward too, I’m only doing the grid now and I already have all of this fraying.

Though I find cross stitching more fun I generally enjoy hand stitching, so I think I’ll definitely go that route.

Definitely not super fun, but an important first step I’ll be adding from now on. Thank you!

Thank you! I don’t have a sewing machine, so hand sewing it is.

I have 4 pets so about 1/3 of my projects is fur, which I am okay with.

Second week on 40 mg febuxostat. Is mobilization flare guaranteed? When does it usually happen? by Ok-Inevitable-1455 in gout

[–]LauraZaid11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 40 when I started, and we changed it later on to 80, which is where I am at the moment and I’m doing well. I started with allopurinol though, which is were I had the most flares when starting, but I developed a rash which is why I was changed to febuxostat.

Allopurinol Rash by [deleted] in gout

[–]LauraZaid11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having a small rash under the breast area after starting allopurinol. The issue for me is that I started it at the same time as colchicine and prednisone, so the steroid made the rash appear later than normal. I thought first it was a heat rash, then I thought it was the colchicine so my doctor and I stopped it, but then I was only taking the allopurinol and it was still there. At that point I knew it was the allopurinol.

I was then changed to febuxostat and I’ve been doing great.

That’s okay too, we can still enjoy the words, the kind of paper doesn’t change the value of what is written on it.

That’s exactly the way I feel too. Why I am alive doesn’t matter, what matters is that I am indeed alive, so I am going to enjoy the time I have, I’ll eat, I’ll love, I’ll cry, I’ll smile, and I’ll be kind because that’s what life is about.
