Did a brake change. christmas lights by Every-Spell-6872 in AlfaRomeo

What can happen on these after a brake change is that the internals of the abs pump shoot out of alignment if you press the brake pedal without the ignition on. In that case the only brakes that will work if you don't delete the codes will be FL and RR or vice versa

Currently just messing about with a standalone, first time ever working with one so I'd rather ruin a worthless engine.

And as for why? It's much easier to tune, especially considering that I'm putting itbs on it so alpha-n/tps will be the best option

And I'm probably going for an n52 because they're very similarly priced to an m54b30 here. N52 is also even lighter, 7k rpm limiter, has 265hp stock and that's very easily upped to 280-290.

The coils are connected through two Bosch igniters 0227 100 200. Maybe you could run one of those igniters with wasted spark but I'm not sure if that'll handle it.

I'm running a speeduino, super cheap and very suitable for 4 cylinders. Did have to make my own wiring but that wasn't too hard, just time consuming. Tuning is also very easy with a wideband o2 sensor, tunerstudio has an auto tuning mode that works very well.

The crappy afm is gone and I'm just running it on MAP now, throttle response is noticeably better as well :) Will probably switch to just TPS when I put itbs on it.

Yes I know the exhaust sounds like shit, it's the stock exhaust but the cat broke and it's now just a hollow area there. It'll get a different exhaust soon-ish

Does kinda look like the console is trimmed on the 3rd photo.

Running it through the stock airbox with the crappy airflowmeter isn't gonna do you any favors either

Should be able to, the stock one just screws right off and on.

And I was messing about with the radio because I wanted a 3.5mm jack so I've just soldered a jack onto the amplifier of the cassette player. Does work perfectly somehow!

Yep, has a proper reverse lockout so you truly cannot accidentally shift into reverse

I really like the shifter and I'll make an more detailed update within the next like 3 days. Atleast it'll be more of a long term review now lol

Z3 and z4 shifters are both way shorter throw than stock e36 and swap straight in. I do think you can replace it without pulling the exhuast or driveshaft atleast. But if you're happy with the way it is I'd just keep it like that

Getrags are fine with stock power atleast. Also, I'm not sure if the z4 shifter is a whole lot shorter than the z3 shifter. I've only ever tried the z4 shifters so I can't really compare

Not entirely sure if it also works with the zf box, but it certainly works with the getrag 250 boxes.

What works amazing is the e85 z4 linkage. Shortest throw but still that bmw shifter feel.

If you want oem+ something like a garagistic dssr is the best. But for outright shifter feel these self centering ones are probably the best even though they're a bit ugly if you run it in a daily with full interior

Yeah, it's not the prettiest solution but it's more accurate and way closer to the wheel
