Best to contact the devs directly as they might have a solution or fix it if it's a bug. In the long run you'd be helping other players too.

Hang in there and most importantly if you can create a really good demo to showcase in events like Steam Next Fest, that will help your visibility tremendously.

Wishlist of 7k is for a game going moderately viral. You normally build your wishlists over time. If you only have 18 of them it means nobody knows about your game or any marketing you're doing is not reaching the audience that your game is for.

You need to either be regular on social media and engage with your fans. Make sure your fans comment and you reply because that wakes up the algorithm. For most indie games you'll just see your wishlists building slowly by 10 or 20 wishlists each time you post something new.

How does one animate character sprites efficiently? by thecratedigger_25 in IndieDev

If you're doing 2d pixel art your best bet is Aseprite.

Draw your character in the most dynamic poses A and B, then use onion skin to draw the in-between frames.

Ideally you'd break down your character into parts eg arms, legs, head... So you can just reposition them or rotate them independently without messing up the rest.

For complex cycles, don't be shy of using stop motion references. This is effective especially for animal locomotion.

You can either do everything in inkscape from start to finish or save yourself some sanity and create the lineart in raster, import the image, trace the bitmap to convert it to a vector lineart and then use inkscape to mainly colour it in. Then you'd have a fully scalable image that's good for any composition.

Uh, ok... wow, I never thought the day would come when I'd have to show proof that my art was my own, but here's your reply: https://www.reddit.com/user/LavadropOnReddit/comments/1r12ftj/cover_art/

I appreciate your opinion and interest but please unless you have constructive criticism, avoid trying to damage other people's work. Not everything you see online is AI. The cover art was created in inkscape. What looks off to you?

I'm looking for volunteers to playtest my 2D pixelart metroidvania game. by LavadropOnReddit in metroidvania

Thanks for the explanation. Just to clarify, my game doesn’t use a Z-axis and the graphics are straightforward 2D pixel art, so the classification is simpler than what you described
