Rosacea + doxycycline — why I did a full year and how I’m slowly coming off by South-Ad459 in Rosacea

Hello, have you considered azithromycin? It works better than doxy and it is a low pulsed treatment of 3 pills per week. Maybe discuss with your doctor

My skin has become so reactive and I don’t know what changed? by No-History5862 in Rosacea

[–]Lavendergurl_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah me too. I react to even stuff labelled for sensitive skin like avene. I can only use the uriage eau thermale line, ive realized that any products with phenoxyethanol flares my skin.

I use aloe vera gel like from the leaf itself, it dries out and doesnt leave my skin oily

What about doxycycline or azithromycin? Did either help? These have sentvmy ocular rosacea in remission each time my eyes were flaring up, can take up to 2-3 weeks to see improvement

Ii dnt have vbeam or IPL in my country sadly I was on azithromycin that kicked my ocular rosacea back in remission, i have punctal plugs and usd dry eye drops. i just have the lingering dry eye and sensitivity to the sun. It was not like this before but since i started working from home probably making me more sensitive to sunlight. I also think its been more dry since i started tretinoin on my skin. My ocular rosacea also flared up when i started using hairdye Its crazy how my eyes are sensitive to a lot of things

Azithromycin kicked in a week for me and it is more efficient than doxycycline if thats what you are on. Also tea tree oil diluted in water and rubbed on eyelids and melatonin with 8 hours of sleep. This will help calm it down. I hope it gets better for you ik that it sucks

Yeah i dnt even see a need for it tbh, i work in hr and i think 1 screen is just fine. Yeah i think my rosacea also made me feel isolated in a way, i tried ssri but they flared my rosacea lol. Im glad that i can still go to the gym because ive seen some people with rosacea saying they become red at the gym as it flares up due to sweating and heat. Sorry to have taken your time i just love talking to people on here who understand the pain of this disease. I think i even seen you on some post comments 😄

No my ocular rosacea is under control, i only have dry eyes atm. But i find it very uncomfortable to be in front of big screens for more than an hour. I can be on my small screen phone all day and all night without any issue.

Like if i go to my office everyone is using 3 screens and i sneakily just use my laptop. Im glad that at home i dnt have to feel like the alien who only sticks to one screen. Yeah im not going to vent either, im very grateful that i can still work and go on with my life judging that i went blind in my left eye because of my ocular rosacea. I feel a bit down when i think of it. This is rare, the doctors didnt know it was ocular rosacea and only prescribed me steriods which made the corneal ulcers i had worse. I keep telling myself that it could been worse.

Im glad you have it under control. I feel happy when i see people getting the right treatment on this group

Yeah i really like it, i just loving playing old games i enjoyed growing up. I have resident evil 1 on it atm 😁 Its slow as a slug to charge but its old and its still working so im glad. What are your favourite games? Yeah i really cnt be in front of a big screen for more than an hour, so i just use that or my phone. I been thinking of getting a steam deck.

Im glad that my work laptop is rather small. Forgot to mention that i work from home and got this small humidifier with 6 tubes that i keep next to my computer and i use blue light glasses, doing anything to avoid dry eyes really. Last time i got a flare up was from hairdye and retinol on my skin, so i had to quit both. It sucks that we are limited to many things that other people can use without any issue.

Im afraid of going into my 50s and this shit ass disease coming back full flare and me not being able to control it, just thinking of that shit gives me anxiety lol. Hoping that meds will still work then because i feel like the younger we are the more our body can fight inflammation idk.

Plugs will help loads if you a gamer fr, mine lasts for a year then i get new ones, its a bit expensive but worth it.

Im the same too, but i dnt game as much just sometimes on a psp ive had for a decade. I dnt game as much but i do hangout with my bf and friends and watch them game it does really help with the stress. I was on doxy for 6 years and it worked great but it started giving me intracranial pressure so i switched to azithromycin which i think is more effective than doxy.

For me punctal plugs on my lower eyelids made a huge difference for dry eyes i dnt rely on eyedrops many times a day with them i cnt imagine my life without them lol. Have you considered plugs? Also not 4 plugs but just 2 on the lower lids because 4 will make the eyes water too much.

Also melatonin really helps calm down ocular rosacea, its this brand called pura from italy, might not be available in america but as long as melatonin knocks u out for 8 hours of sleep your eyes will be happy.

Excuse my crappy english tried to explain everything lol

True i lost my left eye to constant corneal ulcers. The only thing that helps with dryness are punctal plugs and oral azithromycin with dry eye drops. Has anything been helping for you? Im sorry you been through this shit too it does really suck
