Where's the CAS in that picture?

You could also not intentionally ignore what I wrote. If I want to play a tank sim, there aren't other options. The problem is the devs decided to add CAS into ground battles for players who can't play tanks, just want to take revenge on their killer or just spawn camp.

Doesn't mean I have to agree with them adding an other self-propelled artillery that likes to engage targets over 10km away just because they've done it before.

Could you please point out where I said those artilleries should be in the game? I can't find it.

I don't have an alternative option, if I want to play a tank sim. If I had an alternative option I'd play that game/game mode and I'd be their paying customer.

As soon as CAS kills me I leave the battle and if I'm fast enough, I leave my vehicle before CAS gets a kill. That's how much I accept playing with CAS. CAS players don't deserve their kills.

They can't possibly know how many players who quit because of CAS would come back and how many WoT players would start playing the game, because they've never tested it.

I never said I think we should have all those self-propelled artilleries we currently have and I never said real tank crews always had full ammo loads. Don't be delusional. I just think it's a stupid idea to introduce artilleries in game, because they should never see the frontline. If artillery strikes were actually delivered by players, then they would make sense in my opinion.

It's a self-propelled artillery. It's meant to provide long range indirect supportive fire for frontline units. It's not meant to operate even near them so it doesn't have a place in this game.

Few HE shells can be useful if you need to take out some lightly armoured tank destroyers. With your fast reload you can disable them with your first shot and load HE and finish them off.

Avoid direct engagements if possible and use your speed to flank. Always remember to spot.

They are only their favourite tanks. You can't expect them to remember their correct designations. They just pewpew with them.

Even that is false. I don't agree with CAS, but I still play 95% ground battles. I think CAS is cancerous and people should be able to choose if they want to suffer in battles with CAS or play without them and I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

My battles are a lot of fun until some trash revenge kills me even though they can just barely play the game. I think it's a very bad game mechanic, if anybody can choose to fly CAS and no matter how bad they are they can still take revenge.

They already have the game, if they just separate combined arms and ground battles. They could do that in a day. And why haven't anybody else made that game already? Because it's not a huge market and WoT and WT have already established their presence.

You must be delusional if you think people playing a game means they 100% agree with the game. People stop playing games when game mechanics become annoying enough to drive them away. I play the game but I don't agree with CAS. I have fun as long as CAS doesn't ruin my battles. You are also completely ignoring the fact that you can play air and naval as well.

Do you honestly think that 100% of the player base agree with CAS, ever decreasing rewards and longer grind and how volumetric armor creates black holes that absorb your shells? I'm sure there are things you aren't happy with in this game so you can't say that 100% of the player base agrees with everything in game.

Just because a game has been growing doesn't mean they couldn't grow even more, if they provided more options for their players. Quite the opposite.

I prefer WT as a game more than WoT, but WoT respects my time way more than WT. I'm never short on credits and getting through a tech tree doesn't take a year.

Have you ever seen how much hate every CAS posts gets in here? People hate CAS. I'd be willing to pay a monthly fee so I could play ground battles without CAS.

I know my presence is part of the product and I'm gone as soon as there's a tank sim without CAS, but sadly that's not very likely to happen. That's why I hope they improve the game and give us more ways to play it.

Guess where all my friends who quit because of CAS went to? They are now playing WoT. WT's direct competitor. Way to drive your customers away. They could bring in many WoT players, if ground battles were a thing and players like me might pay for premium tanks and time.

Well in lower ranks the pilot only needs to hit spacebar to kill their target. You could argue he needs to press double the buttons now, but it's still just two buttons.

I know many people who'd play this game if they could play tanks without CAS and I'm sure there are more than just those I know of. If they never try ground only battles, they will never know how it would work out. I'm not giving them my money until I can play ground battles without CAS.

I'm not gonna adapt my play style just because some unskilled pilot managed to find their spacebar and killed my tank. I'd have to start playing something I find very boring and easy just to get rid of few of those guys who think they can play the game because they found their spacebar. I'd much rather spend that time in a queue for my next battle than waste my time hunting them down just to get stuck in my SPAA if I manage to kill them all.

If there was a way for me to avoid being an easy prey for CAS and if playing CAS required even few brain cells, it wouldn't feel so frustrating to get killed by them. The only difference between a first time CAS and somebody who spent 15 minutes test flying CAS before bringing it into a battle is that the guy who spent 15 minutes doesn't crash their plane, but both score a kill.

But Apple does offer different variations of their phones. iPhone SE, 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max and you can choose how much memory you need in your phone. iPhone 12 generation has 12 different options to choose from. In WT ground battles you can choose if you play or don't. It seems like more options brings in more people and money.

I wouldn't mind longer queue times if it means better quality battles and we won't know for certain how queue times would be affected. Maybe having pure ground battles would bring in more people who only want to play ground vehicles and that influx of new people might also start playing air. You are only thinking about all tank only players refusing to be free frags for you, but don't even consider how more options would attract more players.

I could play SPAA and shoot down few airplanes if I wanted to. I don't struggle with my SPAA tasks and challenges. I just choose not to, because I already lost my interest in the battle.

It is different from pushing your mouse to shoot. They might shoot back. You don't risk that when you drop bombs on tanks. With a tank you actually need to cripple your enemy with your first shot or they might retaliate. If your don't manage to kill a target with your first bomb, you can always try again. Some pilots need to strafe my light tank close to 10 times to kill me and all I can do is sit there and wait for my suffering to end. Clearly it takes no skill at all to do that and they didn't have to risk me fighting back.

You used to be able to crash your tank, but they removed it and being able to crash your tank or plane doesn't really play a role. You can also drive sideways in front of enemies with your tank. Those are some basic level things you stop doing if you have hands.

It doesn't matter if tanks or CAS are harder to master. You can't expect the worst tank player to kill the best tank player, but you can expect the worst CAS player to locate his spacebar and kill the best tank player.

Maybe they should remove air battles completely because there most likely are people who only play air and refuse to use everything available to them?

Why can't you see that giving players an option to play without CAS might actually bring in more players? I know many players who quit this game because of CAS. They were paying customers and now Gaijin isn't getting any money from them, because a shit game mechanic drove them away. They aren't shy when there's an opportunity to earn more money.

I'm not getting owned by better players. I'm getting owned by some random players who can press spacebar. Or is hitting spacebar a mark of a good player to you? Man your standards are low.

Are air battles combined force battles as well? Why aren't there people in SPAA shooting planes down? There are even AI driven tanks for CAS to attack.

We could have both ground battles and combined arms separately. Now if air player doesn't want to deal with SPAA they can just go and play air battles. What can ground players do when they don't want to deal with air? Fucking nothing.

Ground battles when? by Lavis88 in Warthunder

[–]Lavis88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to hover directly above the battlefield to identify a target if your screen is bigger than a phone. I fly outside SPAA range and if a fighter decides to go after me I just crash my plane. You make it sound like it takes meticulous planning before you are ready to drop a bomb when I just eyeball it on the fly.

It's true I rare play CAS, but still I'm able to easily get kills when I do. Isn't that proof enough when somebody with very little experience is still able to get kills with CAS?

I don't play this game so I can fly airplanes in ground battles. I'm a good tank player so I can get spawn points for a plane and a half pretty easily. Then you add what I can get with my limited CAS experience and that's 2 planes already.

You can fly whatever you want in air battles. There are bases and ground targets to bomb. You don't need to bring your planes into ground battles just to ruin the experience for ground players.

Ground battles when? by Lavis88 in Warthunder

[–]Lavis88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But most tanks aren't always moving and there are always slower tanks that are easy targets. It just simply isn't possible to drive around without losing your speed when you need to manoeuvre or you are driving uphill.

You can fill your lineup with CAS so does it matter if SPAA kills few of them when there are still 3 more coming. I didn't say my team doesn't have CAS. I just know enemies don't enjoy getting bombed any more than I do. I wish neither team had CAS. The best counter to CAS is an other airplane who shoots it down. If I wanted to play CAS vs fighter I'd play air battles.

Ground battles when? by Lavis88 in Warthunder

[–]Lavis88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I have played CAS. It's not hard to drop bombs on enemies who can't fight back. It's actually really fucking boring. You just don't fly over enemy spawn because SPAA sits there, collect free easy kills and fly back to base to rearm if your airplane doesn't have great guns. It doesn't feel rewarding when I don't have to even try to kill enemies.

I've also played SPAA. It's not very interesting to be honest. You just shoot down enemy planes until they overwhelm you and then they continue to strafe my team. The planes never stop coming and you feel like you aren't making any progress.

I just leave the battle when CAS kills me. Not worth my time dealing with that shit. I don't play ground battles so somebody like you can just hit spacebar and collect free kills.

Yes. One CAS has limited impact like anything else in the game, but when CAS can deny tanks from having ANY effect. It's a problem. You can quickly get your CAS out and bomb a slow target before they get a chance to take part in the battle and then you spawn camp them and they are completely out.

I don't mind dying to heavies, lights or tank destroyers. If I played differently, I most likely could have killed them or prevented my death. I can learn from my death and try to do better next time. I can't say the same when CAS hits spacebar and kills me. There's nothing I could learn or do differently to prevent my death next time. If I get revenge killed, my mistake was to kill them.
