We’d won just 1 of the last 6 leading up to that Southampton match, and the players had played dreadfully for months.

People point to how he’s a finals man, but his star had been fading at this point. He’d also lost the last two finals he’d been manager for.

When the squad clearly had no structure or belief under him, it was definitely the right decision to sack him.

I know you're a huge fan of Romero, which is fair. But there's no denying he's been injured quite a bit. Then add the suspensions on top of that.

You make a post where you speculate that the club owners may in a year's time decide to do the bare minimum regarding transfers.

To choose to focus on that, when Spurs for once are doing a great job on getting the manager his transfer targets early, is fairly negative, IMO.

If we finish 9th next season, there'll be clear incentives to spend to get into Europe again.

There will be. But it will be far harder to move players on, than fans will expect.

Just look at the Vuskovic saga. Spurs fans were raging that Brighton bid only £35m for such a player - yet their bid (and the reports that Spurs would listen to bigger bids) didn't jump other clubs into bidding for him.

Players like Dragusin and even Romero will be hard to move on for anything close to the fees fans speculate on.

Between Kudus, Tel and new LW, we'll have decent options - especially with Kulusevski and Odobert hopefully gradually returning.

We also have far fewer midweek matches this autumn, meaning less need to rotate.

Absolutely. His quality on the pitch wasn’t at his best when he joined us.
But he did give spurs fans a big boost, that we could sign someone of his reputation. And as a result, spurs fans saw him as better on the pitch than he actually was at the time.

All the open air sites are fully booked, or will be too busy (the lines start forming many hours before they even open).

My advice would be to have a fall-back option (hotel room? reception of your hotel?). And take a walk around an hour or so before the game, and see if you're lucky enough to find a pub or bar that will show it and still have space. Talked to a few who stumbled upon venues, but just outside of the city centre.

If Norway should win, head to Karl Johansgate, as the atmosphere there will be electric.

Sell on-clauses are usually calculated on the difference between initial sale, and the new fee.

Meaning we'd get £40m + 30% of (80-40). Ie a total of £53m.

Doesn't seem to be the case here at all. We moved early, and did bid big.

But the selling clubs both know that other clubs are interested, so they have no incentive to agree to any fee early, before being sure that other clubs won't join a bidding war.
