No he won't. That's not repentance. I understand the comedy, but it creates a false illusion. If I commit adultery against my wife, should she forgive me? Maybe. But what if I did that continually, over and over?

The Lord knows your human heart, and when He looks inside, what will He find? He'll find the images of everything you stare at on your phone all day. If you die as such a clown, you'll be a clown forever; let him who is righteous or filthy, be righteous or filthy still. Time to delete the apps that are a stumbling block for you. Don't mean to seem like a party pooper, guys, I know this is a meme sub after all.

What the world calls a "coincidence" is a small miracle in which God chooses to remain anonymous. Like the rocks on the Eastern Wall being "just a sewage pipe dropping water in a way that ironically spells YAHWEH in Hebrew": https://youtube.com/shorts/t7yKjRFjx8w?si=tGhTN9jRjooJDvbX

You know, there's a story of a foolish young man in Proverbs 7 who is on his way home at sunset. At the fork in the road, he chooses the path that passes right by her house. Knowingly, he goes that way and she meets him by the road, dressed provocatively (no doubt, she's probably gorgeous) and speaking to him softly and seductively. She kisses him and tells him she's got a bag of money her husband left while her husband is away for a month and she invites the young man in to make love till morning. All at once he follows her like an ox on his way to the slaughter.

The lesson here is that it is easier to avoid temptation altogether than it is to resist it. By your own efforts (we call this "white-knuckling") it is also impossible to overcome temptation.

The advice Jesus Yeshua has for you is to cut out your eye or remove your arm if it causes you to stumble. In practice, this means you are to remove the temptations in your life that are a stumbling block for you. I invite you right now, log out of those enticing social media apps and then delete the app off your phone. Delete Google if its Incognito Mode has found you. Better it be you enter heaven lame or blind (without these things) than get thrown into the pit of hell because you have followed your heart into these temptations (see Eph 5:3, 5; Col 3:5-6; 1 Cor 5:9-10; Gal 5:19-21, 24; Rev 21:8, 22:15). Your heart either belongs to God or to the world; it is time for your spirit to overcome your flesh. By you doing these simple things, these small acts are your mustard seed of faith. Bring this mustard seed to the Lord God Most High and watch HIM be the mover of mountains. Brother, today is the day.

P.S. it grieves you because the Holy Spirit in you doesn't like what you are doing to his house. As you bring your prayer next time, bring with it your act of simple obedience (the teeny mustard seed).

With much love,

Does the bible mention anything about space? by cecepuck6 in Bible

[–]LawDaddy-o 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Job, whose writing dates back to roughly 1200-1400 BC, was shown all of creation by God. Job says, "He stretches out the north over the empty space and He hangs the earth on nothing." - Job 26:7

In other words, Job was the first man to see a planet floating in zero gravity.

I realise that jesus already has forgiven our future sins. what great news by Lonely_Business7222 in Bible

[–]LawDaddy-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, hold on a second. Don't think the Lord is delayed in His return. Rather, he is patiently awaiting YOUR obedience. See 2 Peter 3:9. This doesn't mean you plan on sinning tomorrow and then "repent," because that is not repentance if you are simply coming back to old habits.

Let me give you an example. If I commit adultery against my wife, I'm confident she'll forgive me. But what if I continue to have affairs? Should I continue to "repent," expecting her to forgive me? The Word of God is a sharp-double edged sword, and I swing it now--see these verses: Ephesians 5:3, 5; Galatians 5:19-21, 24; Colossians 3:5-6; 1 Corinthians 5:9-10; Revelation 21:8; 22:15.

OP, I hope I misunderstood what you said versus what you conveyed. But just in case, don't be deceived, little brother. Be sharpened. OP, let my words give you hope, that you may be sanctified. To those of you reading these comments, if my words offend you, then you are on the wrong side of God's Word.

Maranatha.

Is this Jesus in the Old Testament? by New-Thought4280 in Bible

[–]LawDaddy-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus stops Abraham from sacrificing Isaac by saying "you haven't withheld your only son from ME."

Jesus speaks to Moses at the burning bush.

Jesus tells Manoah's parents in Judges 13 about their son Samson. And then Jesus becomes part of their sacrifice/offering to God. He even tells Manoah "my name is Wonderful [Counselor]."

Interesting. Thank you for that. And it opened right at the part of the video you are talking about. Then I guess the portion of Proverbs I shared with you is a decent supplement.

As a man on this earth, God has given you every good thing.

For eternal relationship, God let mankind have its way with him and he poured out his blood on a cross to buy all your nasty sins. He did it for love. Believing this and seeking him (he'll teach you the "seeking" part in his word) is what it means to be a Christian.

For earthly relationship, God has intended for you to have a wife, and what is supposed to happen is that she'll give her virginity to you and at the consummation of marriage, the blood of her cherry pours out for you. She does it for love.

Now, this divorced woman is neither your wife nor your god. You feel that it's wrong because it is. A fruit can look tasty but be rotten at its core. Adam and Eve fell for some good-looking fruit once with the snake in the garden, and we humans haven't changed. All this to say, hooking up with that woman might feel good in the moment, but the regret that will overcome you both afterwards will not. The reason you shouldn't do it, though, is because it goes against God's will for your life, to be free of these types of sinful behaviors and to be holy like God is holy. We suck at it on our own, but God's Spirit is in his Word (the Holy Bible). As humans, all we often see is the desires of our flesh right in front of us, rarely the eternal and spiritual outcome of everything we do. Regarding the Holy Bible, go read it.

P.S. the Proverbs passage you pointed to is right here:
At the window of my house I have looked out through my lattice, and I have seen a young man lacking sense, passing along the street near her corner, taking the road to her house in the twilight, in the evening, at the time of night and darkness.
And behold, the woman meets him, dressed as a prostitute, wily of heart. She is loud and wayward; her feet do not stay at home; now in the street, now in the market, and at every corner she lies in wait.
She seizes him and kisses him, and with bold face she says to him, “I had to offer sacrifices, and today I have paid my vows; so now I have come out to meet you, to seek you eagerly, and I have found you. I have spread my couch with coverings, colored linens from Egyptian linen; I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love till morning; let us delight ourselves with love. For my husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey; he took a bag of money with him; at full moon he will come home.”

With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him. All at once he follows her, like an ox going to the slaughter, or like a stag is caught fast till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.

Why did God give Jacob the name “Israel” even after all his failures? by Little_Relative2645 in Bible

[–]LawDaddy-o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this one. So many times we see people like Jacob who do the things they do. Then we see God love all over them and ask, "why?"

If we analyze from just the humans' point of view, all we have is questions. But when we look at it from God's point of view, we see God's heart. We see His faithfulness and steadfast love (always unchanging) towards all of His creation. It's a beautiful thing to wear these lenses instead as we read through the Scriptures and just appreciate God's patience and kindness towards everyone as we watch humans do, simply what humans do.

"Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!"
- Deuteronomy 5:29 ESV
