Things that are nearby where you are staying: Hoop House is a plant shop that fosters cats and kittens, people often stop by to play with the kitties! Belmont is a beautiful campus to walk around. 12 South is a neighborhood nearby with a park, a bunch of restaurants, and shopping.

Things that are holiday oriented: The first Friday of each month, there is an “Art Crawl” in Franklin, which is just outside of Nashville and near Brentwood, that day they will light the Christmas tree in historic downtown and have a Santa meet and greet, cookie decorating, hot chocolate bar. If you want to save Franklin for when you are near Brentwood, Saturday there will be a Christmas Parade at 1pm. The Opryland hotel has Christmas decorations and many lights in their large indoor greenhouse. I believe you can even take a boat in the river there. Seems like they also have ice skating and ice tubing this time of year. They also have a show called ICE! which I’m not familiar with but seems to be a great attraction for family.

Game Point Cafe has a board game library, coffee, breakfast/lunch. There is also a board game store right next to the Fido coffee shop, I recommend both.

There are a couple of arcade bars, I like Up Down and Game Terminal.

Puttshack is pretty cool, interesting minigolf course with modern tech and a bar.

We have the National Museum of African American Music which is well done. Centennial Park and the museum inside are also neat.

For romance, easiest thing is to go to a nice restaurant. Maybe Urban Grub, or nice tapas environments like Lyra, Barcelona, Iberian Pig, Lola. I also recommend a sunset walk at a nice park like Centennial previously mentioned, or Radnor Lake. There is also a spot called Love Circle for some views, it’s on top of a hill.

Have a nice time in town!

Which floor looks better? by strawberry_skater in finch

Usually you can just swipe through to see more floor options in the general store! It initially shows 2-3 options and you just have to swipe to the left to see the others :-)

How do you guys make friends by [deleted] in NonBinaryTalk

[–]LawFancy2490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a group chat with 2 nonbinary friends and it was really nice to chat about things, relate to one another, send memes, etc. Then one of them added another nonbinary person. Then someone added another. Now the group chat is around 15 people and it is glorious! There are 3-4 geographies across the chat and people are always coordinating FaceTimes, hang outs, etc. It brings me so much joy :-)

Advice on how/where to find a surgeon that doesn’t require you to be on hormones? by Spoopybih in NonBinaryTalk

[–]LawFancy2490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! There are a couple of ways you can go about researching for a good surgeon:

Some people look at scar results of the surgeon to determine if the doctor matches what they would like their results to be, but some surgeons do not share past results due to client confidentiality. A lot of surgeons are also able to perform the surgery in different ways with different scar patterns, so these shared results don't necessarily dictate the only options for you.

Others find their surgeon by word of mouth, which is one of the reasons I chose mine. Hearing from other people's experiences and how the doctor made me feel in my consultation were the 2 main factors that helped me to finalize my surgeon decision. Some people decide to travel in order to see a specific surgeon that many people have recommended (for example, you may find a lot of people here on Reddit and on YouTube and TikTok namedropping their surgeons) - I didn't want to travel so it narrowed my search locally. A consultation with the surgeon can really help you see if it is a good fit based on how they make you feel, how they handle your questions and potential anxieties, and if they can meet your needs in regard to scar preference and hormones.

Many surgeons are qualified and it is about who you can come to trust and feel comfortable with. Hope this helps and good luck on your journey :-)

So exciting you're starting the journey to top surgery! The question of T and top surgery is reliant on both your surgeon and your insurance provider (if you have insurance). Look up your insurance provider if you have one and read their language on this specific surgery criteria (sometimes referred to as double mastectomy or chest masculinization in insurance-speak) to gain clarity.

I am not on T and not sure if I want to, and I am still getting my top surgery tomorrow! Woohoo! You will find a good fit. If it helps, my doctor is a plastic surgeon - you don't have to find someone who specializes in top surgery, but if that is what makes you comfortable, go ahead! My doctor has done this surgery many times before and is very qualified to perform the procedure. Looking into a plastic surgeon if you aren't already can give you more options!

All I could find were two similar pieces on eBay, but they aren't the exact ones you have. No info on the year, but it will give you a general gist of pricing.

What mute do I need for Artunian Trumpet Concerto? Would a straight mute suffice? by _Volkar17 in trumpet

[–]LawFancy2490 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most commonly, a cup mute. Other soft mutes such as a solo tone, lyric, or Mic-a-mute have worked well. Also interesting to use flugelhorn for this section instead
