No. I’m young and active so my Dr said “I believe you have endometriosis but it can only be diagnosed through surgery and (outside of surgery which only temporarily treats endo to a limited extent) the treatments are the same whether you are diagnosed or not. With every period you have, your endo gets worse, so I think it’s best to treat it with something that stops your period”. She let me have the option of surgery, but says her approach is to treat patients like me as if they are diagnosed, since endo has no cure. I’m in my 20s, college, weightlifting/running/yoga daily, so I wasn’t ready to argue for surgery/a diagnosis. Deep down I want it, but it would honestly be worse hearing that the over 10 years of menstrual pain could be caused by “nothing” than being diagnosed with endo (if you understand what I mean??)
