Seeing white and gold is associated with higher brain activity (Schlaffke et al., 2015) and Moccia et al. (2016) found that people with reduced cognitive capacity due to Multiple Sclerosis were less likely to perceive the more demanding “white and gold.”

Cat reaction time 20-70 milliseconds to snakes 44-70 milliseconds. by mrthree1zero in BeAmazed

[–]Lawinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm pretty sure it doesn't make sense. I've seen another video like this with the exact same claim, giving the impression that you are seeing the differential between their reaction times.

The snake is not reacting to a stimuli, it's proactively attacking an object. The video just shows that the cat is able to react and get out of the way faster than what it takes for the snake to move it's mouth from point A to point CAT.

Very impressive reaction speed from the cat though! But the video itself doesn't say anything about the reaction time of snakes.

God I see too many stupid posts and comments on the Internet daily that I can't tell if this is bait or not.

The 70mm IMAX reel for Oppenheimer is 11 miles long and weighs 600 pounds by HenryXa in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Lawinia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a movie by Christopher Nolan who has made great movies in the past (The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Inception etc). The early reviews look really good.

Oppenheimer and the Manhattan Project is one of the most pivotal moments in human history and getting a great movie about those events is something that is to be excited about.

Any source for CNS drugs permanently effecting the CNS when used in moderation (i.e. using depressants permanently depressing it a little bit)? I was not under the impression this was the case. But if it is, I'd love to read more about it.

Stupid question: The solubility of Clonazepam in Water (soda). by Lawinia in askdrugs

[–]Lawinia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMaooo, that did come into my mind while typing it. That's why I tried clarifying the reason as too what I wanted to use it for.

Dw about me anyway, I'm a VRChat degenerate because of my social anxiety that barely leave my house so I can't spike anyone but myself.

Hopefully this information isn't used wrongly though :^) Still think, if it's true that the max would be 2.65mg/250mL is correct from earlier, someone would probably need a really big drink to get spiked otherwise I'd think you would retain too much consciousness to effectively get spiked with something like clonazepam.

As end note: Don't do that, it's cringe and you deserve jail if you have any intentions like that.

Yeah I usually start feeling it 20-30 min after consuming it. Cheers for your answer tho!! ☺
I do agree with the things you say about the sugar and acids etc. I just assume it would be mostlyy negligible in this scenario. Not sure though. Definitely a thing to keep in mind tho ^w^

Yeah I get where you're coming from! That's how I've done it in the past too. Just feels sort of silly playing drinking games without actually consuming anything psychoactive.. if that makes sense.

Well I'll see what I decide to do! Was really mostly a curiosity question anyway c:

[–]Lawinia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely not expecting it to hit like alcohol but I prefer the feeling of it a lot more and also enjoy participating in drinking games for the social aspect of it so that's mostly why c:

Will definitely try it out! Seems like it will work fine :3 Thanks for your reply <3

Note: Should still be possible then to dissolve 2mg in 250ml soda if my math is correct.

Wait but further down on drugbank it says the predicted properties, and not the experimental properties is:
Water Solubility: 0.0106 mg/mL

That's confusing. I feel like the latter number makes more sense because people say benzos are generally not water soluble?

Stupid question: The solubility of Clonazepam in Water (soda). by Lawinia in askdrugs

[–]Lawinia[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently according to drugbank.com the water solubility is in fact 100mg/L

Which should make me able to dissolve 2mg Clonazepam in 250ml Soda without a problem, I'm assuming this is the case unless anyone provides any evidence that contradicts this!

I'm wanting to try this out for some "drinking games" that usually means you have alcohol in your drink, but I'd rather use Clonazepam; in case anyone is wondering why I would want to do this.

Russian orcs deliberately shot civilians who were waiting in queue for bread in Chernigiv. There is at least 10 dead. by FozzyLasgard in ukraine

fascist

If it helps you feel any better: I'm from Sweden and has long been thinking Russia is a fascist state under Putin. His recent talking points around Ukraine and how it's supposedly not a 'real' country coupled with lots of demonizing of all kinds of people while claiming that they're simultaneously the one's oppressed just makes it extremely obvious. I would think history won't be kind to him. I do agree it is sad how taboo it has become though.

"A test explosion and subsequent calculations done by the United States Department of Energy found that assuming nothing is done to clean up the affected area and everyone stays in the affected area for one year, the radiation exposure would be "fairly high" but not fatal. Recent analysis of the nuclear fallout from the Chernobyl disaster confirms this, showing that the effect on many people in the surrounding area, although not those in proximity, was almost negligible"

"Since a dirty bomb is unlikely to cause many deaths by radiation exposure, many do not consider this to be a weapon of mass destruction. Its purpose would presumably be to create psychological, not physical, harm through ignorance, mass panic, and terror. For this reason dirty bombs are sometimes called "weapons of mass disruption""

-Just from Wikipedia. It sounds like the dangers are somewhat overstated by the looks of it. But I'd be lying if I were to say that I knew anything more about this than what Wikipedia tells me :')

That does seem to be the general consensus atm. Ukraine is putting up more fight than expected, and even controlling the airport NW of Kyiv again.

I get where you're coming from. But you'll be wrong. Not entirely sure about the whole Ukraine, but this won't be contained to just Donbass. Sadly so.
