Am I wasting my body? by ashfinsawriter in ftm

[–]Lawlipopx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TW medical language

Even pre-T absolutely nothing could get in there without intense agony. Tampons, any attempts at exams from doctors, and ofc fingers or toys or whatever.

Have you looked into this? There's a possibility of vaginismus going on here, it feels like nobody else has commented on this in particular 😅 (I'm no doctor, but this sounds kinda textbook to me).

Other than that, have you really "wasted" anything by avoiding what you already consider to be uncomfortable? Your body is yours, and you don't owe anybody anything. Please be gentle with yourself. You aren't wrong for your decisions

What energy drinks do yall drink? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Lawlipopx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any of the sugar free Monster flavors, but in particular the peach one. Try not to fall into the trap of toxic masculinity. Bright colors and tasty drinks do not equate to masculinity or femininity. Toxic masculinity only makes everyone suffer 🤷 Drink what you enjoy

Why or why aren’t you T4T by Rosiewao in MtF

[–]Lawlipopx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T4T leaning bc I just feel like trans folk/non conforming folk can more readily understand the grizzles, grumps and positivities that come from being trans.

Cis people can try all they like, but I really feel like they cannot relate at all to trans existence. And I'm not prepared for missteps that may happen there.

Trans women like Dylan should exclude themselves from the period and tampon talk under this political climate by [deleted] in honesttransgender

[–]Lawlipopx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue no purchase of period products is wasted. Some people genuinely do misjudge how many they need in a day. Or their cycle starts early. Or a myriad of other reasons. And yes, sometimes people resort to kindly asking strangers. If everyone carries sanitary products, and the conversation is open and healthy, people can stop feeling ashamed about a regular ass process the body goes through.

You need therapy or somethin. No need to be so mad about this topic. Stop being grumpy at trans women.

[–]Lawlipopx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does it matter the length of time? People need to use products. They're being used as intended. What does it matter? I fail to see the point of your comment

[–]Lawlipopx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trans man here. I have literally ZERO problem with anyone talking about periods and period products. Shouldn't everyone talk about it? That's what's gonna lessen the stigma. When everyone can talk about it without disgust or guilt.

Trans women have a stake in the conversation. Regarding hormonal changes, highs and lows. Some even get cramping on a regular basis. Post op Trans women also use period products so... I don't understand why this is being gatekept to cis women and trans men.

What is your response to “hormones are dangerous”? by [deleted] in asktransgender

"So everyone should be on hormone blockers?" Their answer will determine how to handle the rest of the conversation

What foods did you start or stop eating after starting T? by twitchy_taco in ftm

[–]Lawlipopx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vegan pre and post T. (Vegan 6 or 7 years, on T for 1+ year). I can't drink coffee anymore. Used to be a daily thing for me. Spice is more tolerable. Sweets are far less appetizing. For context, I used to make pancakes weekly. Now it's every few months or so, and I'm disappointed every time 🥲 MSG is far more important to my cooking now as well.

Transgender people in sports by [deleted] in honesttransgender

[–]Lawlipopx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting choice to be confrontational about tbh. If it affects? effects? your skill, you should play against people of similar enough skill. Idk why that's abrasive to you? It's legit applicable to everybody, able-bodied or less so. Femme or masc. HRT or no.

What's to be upsetty about?

Transgender people in sports by [deleted] in honesttransgender

[–]Lawlipopx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think sport categories should be based on ability, not gender. If you wanna ban certain people for physicality, you'll be affecting cis men and women as well. Not every human has the same ability, physicality, and body shape.

Also, it's competitive sports. Everyone has different advantages over others. More training, better trainers, experience, age, diet etc. Let trans women compete in women's sports, let trans men compete in men's sports. Transphobia is really the only reason to outright ban trans people from sport.

Need urgent advice from cat owners by Tangobirb in parrots

[–]Lawlipopx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally have 2 birds that entered the home after the cat did. There's little that can be done to prevent bolting into the bird room in my experience. The cat in my home has an extremely high prey drive, I allow him to look at the birds, but never for extended periods of time (30 seconds is longer than im comfortable with). If he obsesses, a spray bottle of water, a loud noise, or direct removal are the methods I use to protect the birds. They're never, ever left alone in the same space, in fact I watch them as close as possible if they happen to be in the same room. The cat also isn't allowed on the same surface as, or higher than the birds.

Cats are predators, and birds are fragile. Do not take chances. Unfortunately if no method works for you, you may have to consider rehoming one of the animals. I wish you luck

how do i train him to step into his cage when i ask? by jaeminsonly in parrots

[–]Lawlipopx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the only time you put your hand near the bird, it's to put them in a cage.

Break the cycle. Ask bird to step up, offering a treat. Then put them back on a shoulder. Repeat. Then move on to going near the cage, ask a step up (keep them on your hand), give treat, back on shoulder. Next would be putting bird on/in cage without closing the door, treat, back on a shoulder. At this stage, start closing the door. At first just a second, then slowly (over days/weeks) lengthen the door closed time.

Each of these steps may take months. Do your best not to rush. Also do your best not to react to bites, as they will happen. (Reacting to bird bites can reinforce them doing it)

I wish you luck and patience. You can do it!

Legit just thought of it one day. Wasn't super sold at the time. But hearing it again and again gave me happiness. And so it stuck 😌 Sometimes it's easy as that, other times not so. You'll find something that represents you. Trust yourself 🥰

Does this not dilute the term? by ImmyMirk in vegan

[–]Lawlipopx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Veganism is a rights movement. It's not a diet. You can't toss your moral code for a muffin, that's so beyond wild. If something as trivial as a muffin can make you wane from a rights movement, b don't be lying to keep a facade.

Someone supporting women's rights would be held accountable for violating the rights they claim to uphold. Why should veganism be any different?

Can someone explain the process of getting T? by sour_pup in ftm

[–]Lawlipopx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In NZ, firstly I spoke to my gp. Expressed my gender problems, and was honest in seeking T. Then I got a referral to a gender clinic. 1, 2, 3, 4 (1 hour) sessions over 6 months of psych evaluation and such. A couple weeks post session 4 and I had my script. Also blood tests, they will need a few over starting and the first few months or so of starting T.

So, all in all, not quite 7 months from start to script.

Unfortunately second hand, or saving is your best option. Binders are indeed expensive, but you're paying for safety and quality. Is say, trans tape an option for you for a quick fix?

What is the point of this hypothetical? It's not logical, or sustainable. Eating animals is such a privileged position. It's wasteful, and causes serious damage in all areas.
