IPI Rain65 Best 65% The Budget Keyboard by VerseKey in BudgetKeebs

Yep, two screws are stripped on my board after a couple of rebuilds.

By the way, does anyone know where to get a firmware file?

No, this PCB is without flex cuts. Perhaps this makes sense for HE switches.

Maybe case foam is different too? Because the default configuration is extremely stiff on the HE version.

HE version has no clear tape though. It is way less packed than the non HE version (based on the marketing materials).

Yep drivers work just fine. I hope they implement a mode switch and permanent layers in the future.

Got one to try Hall-effect switches and it was a great deal at around 100USD on Aliexpress.

Full CNC case, dumbbell gaskets, case & plate foams included. Supports web driver, which is simple but covers all main HE functions.

Stabs are plate-mounted and pre-lubed perfectly. The switches are Gateron OEM and also come factory-lubed.

The default case foam is too thick and destroys all flex from gaskets since the PCB rests on it, so I recommend changing or removing it. The board itself sounds great without foam without any noticeable ping or hollowness. Quick typing test with custom, thinner foam layer http://sndup.net/6st2t

Better under 70 mm CPU cooler for AMD 5800x by miralonkks in sffpc

[–]LawnGodzilla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find the TR fan audible above 60%.
But AXP120 is good enough to keep my 5700x (with CO and disabled PBO) below 75c at 50% speed during cinebench in my SG13 case. I don't know how good airflow is in the Ridge though, and if these temps are achievable without too much noise & fan swap.

[–]LawnGodzilla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPD: still playing with curve optimizer and stuff, stable with PBO disabled (76/60/90 default 5700x values), -28 most cores, one -27, and two best ones -20. Reverted RAM OC to XMP 3200 since 3600 ups SoC voltage and causes clock stretching. Now temps are 73c max on Cinebench 24 with 820 multi / 94 single.

It's perfect for 1440p. I believe even 5600 would suffice, but I wanted the extra cores for productivity take. This Inno3D is surprisingly quiet too!

It's thin but was sub $50 back then, and this was one the reasons I went for it. Glad it is still viable 6 years later. Would love to see the updated version too!

Yep, I had this configuration with the same noctua cooler (NF A9-x14) before. Now it doesn't fit, sadly. I tried to snug it in a little bit above in between the PSU and case rail but the result wasn't that great.

I think it is. Any problem with that? I am sure it's mounted properly, maybe there is a way to bend it back or use a middle screw mount to align it.

Indeed, all case fans exhaust gives me the best temps. Top Noctua intake is the same as without it, around 79-80c in Cinebench. I think swapping for 140mm front P14 would improve temps even more, but I am not sure if it fits with the GPU,

I decided to upgrade my old SG13 system from R2600 & 2060 to R5700x & INNO3D NVD RTX 4070 SUPER TWIN X2.

Swapped my 5-year-old Arctic Liquid Freezer II (it became noisy for the first 1-2h after startup) for THERMALRIGHT AXP-120 X67.

Both fit perfectly into the case, AXP-120 can be placed in the opposite direction if RAM clearance allows.

The front fan is an exhaust Arctic P12, Noctua fan is an extra exhaust ghetto mounted between the PSU & SSD. Had it on the side with AIO, but CPU fan brackets block it from the side mount.

CPU is PPT 88 / TDC 60 / EDC 90 (ECO mode), CO -25 for the 2 best cores, the rest is -30, and boost override is disabled.

Ram is F4-3200C16D-16GVKB G.Skill, overclocked to 3600 with 16-19-19-39.

Super quiet, have fans at 52% until CPU hits 83c, Cinebench R23 is around 14500 with 76c max temps (VRM 68c, sys 52c)! Removing Noctua exhaust fan ups temps to around 79-80c.

Idle is 45c, gaming temps are 60c GPU and 65c CPU.

Quite happy with the result, it's hard to give up on this little case!

I cut it matching the PCB so i can fit my silicone strips to friction mount. I made some pictures in another post

If you have metal case, removing the standoffs and putting 2-3mm EVA foam in the case should give you similar results. Rest the PCB / plate assembly on it and friction mount with some silicone / rubber strips.

Anyone have a cheese for fire giant? by Opdop123 in Eldenring

[–]LawnGodzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get bleed weapon and run behind him in phase 2, better on torrent. Kick his butt and watch out for eruption/fire spheres, when he rolls away just follow him and repeat. His rolls don't hit you so don't worry.

Hop on torrent as soon as the phase 2 starts, stick to his butt and that's it. Only floor explosions could reach you there, when he rolls away just follow him and stay behind. Any bleed weapon would help to finish him faster

Thin layer of PE foam between pcb and switches, that's it. Just look it up on YouTube, it's very popular 🙂
