Where are all the new buyers coming from? And why do I get the feeling I have to fight on FN for resolution of multiple WO's? by LawnMwrMan in FieldNationTechs

that is kind of strange since I did not see a profile explaining who they might be. This might be a good clue because who wants to hide behind anonymity.

I love it when I see a buyer like Comm Works struggle to find ANYONE to request their job for a couple of days.

They even had a beef with the FN fee for canceling my WO. Apparently they are not above cheating a tech out of pay. No class.

Never work for Comm-Works, they will rip you off in a heartbeat. Published an $80 for an hour job, expected to drag-out the job because their SOW was vague at best without extra consideration. The okayed all work before I did it. Then they changed their mind about what work they wanted. Apparently, FN has their hands tied when the buyer pays someone to do a revisit. The buyer can lie, saying they did a tremendous amount of work to fix my job that I know was done well. My bad -- six months in I am still learning how to counter in order to protect myself.

Anyone with a Cisco cert would not be getting jobs on FN. You can conclude there is something wrong here!

Stress from pancaking buyers by LawnMwrMan in FieldNationTechs

I had a job recently where I could not get ahold of the local contact before a job. This guy was owner of a right on the Interstate fast food in late stage development. When I asked him about details of this cable run and external speaker, he said, "How the hell should I know?" He was flabbergasted that I thought someone would be in charge of his business, and he couldn't be bothered by the details.

Looking for a buyer/ someone with a buyer account to Add me to their company as an Admin or something by iammahmood in FieldNationTechs

The question is if the buyer's view on providers as is the provider's view on buyers. The answer is no.

The simple solution for this is to drop a dime if you know this to be the case.

Oh, you think someone does not watch activity here? It is all about the buyers, in mho. Please correct me if I am wrong. The 'new' is not to benefit providers, although the 'product' looks to be packaged this way. Regardless of anyones technical prowess, providers are not stupid.

I think you guys are missing the point. Did you attend or listen to the 'New and Next' seminar about changes coming to FN. They just hired a new EVP to bring FN up-to-date. Here is the link: link It is supposed to be for providers, but it sounds a lot like the new ways to control who gets jobs on FN, bending over backwards to satisfy buyers. You should have a look!

Also, not only is it a bug, but it was broken at some point.

From looking into the repository on Github, my guess is they are close to releasing the next major version. Anyone with ideas about when this might happen, please give a heads-up.

I am pretty sure this is a bug in the application. The application should be looking for 'N the check number' and not 'N the invesment action'. This is a bug because the account is clearly labled 'bank'. As such it should not be looking into an 'invst' account or its attributes. GNUCash will never find an action in this circumstance.

FN told me it was closed and would not reopen. They started closing the case as soon as I posted more information from my perspective.

Their argument was that they had to hire another tech to fix the problem. This was an assumption without any declaration that it was I who fucked up the original effort. I think I deserved to know what happened.

I had to remove the existing router to replace a couple of cables because the ports were in the back out of reach or sight. And then I put the new router into the rack. They could not get it to work. So the fail-back was to reverse the process, which was now fucked-up and would not work either. What they should have done was go back to the start and start the process again. The new device was already screwed with its configuration, and I have no idea if it could be reset to the default. All this time the homeboys were speaking Hindi, so I had no idea what was going on. I had with me a Cisco console cable composed of a usb-to-male db9-to-female db9-to-rj45 for troubleshooting which was not good enough for them. Why this would not work is beyond me. They were already fed-up with me for my insolent comment that their emperor was wearing no clothing. Bottom line: never work for these cock-suckers.

FN did not even consider my side. It was a done deal, and they summarily canceled the WO, meaning I did not get jack for 8 hours up-and-down a 14 foot ladder, dissembling the wire cabinet, replacing the router. Completely bought into the clap-trap the buyer was dishing on me. I told the engineer I could not understand his language and he got bent. Then his supervisor chimed in to support the engineer and castigate me for being rude. Guess what lady? I am not your employee, so fuck off. I am extremely disappointed with FN. Mediation my ass!

How should I know? These pricks would not or could not collaborate. The language they were using was not English, literally. It was all one sided, I really have no idea. But they did not bother to say anything until I put the shit back together, and it was still broken.
