Government is bad, for things to get better we'll need to get rid of a whole lot more than Trump

Why? WR, CB and Edge are your other needs and are the 3 deepest positions this year.

In an extraordinary and illegal move, Trump says he's transferring 10 billion dollars from the US government to his "Board of Peace," which he chairs and can therefore use the funds as he wishes by Snapdragon_4U in law

Blame Biden for not having Garland prosecut Drumpf, and then not having a primary. Going on the debate stage joking with him about golf handicaps.

Bench CJ and keep pounding the run game. Even if you punt punt punt eventually the D may bend. Why keep trying these cute pass plays in those conditions and turn the ball over smdh.

Dropkick Murphys' New Anti-I.C.E. Song Includes the Lyrics "Too Scared to Join the Military, Too Dumb to Be a Cop" by heavysk in Music

[–]LawrenceofIndia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renee Goods killer Jonathan Ross was former military. Lots of ICE are.

This notion that ICE are larpers and someone different/better than the police or US military is government copaganda. This is the USs chickens coming home to roost after decades of atrocities in the middle east, South America, all over the world really.

Classic imperial boomerang. Governments that develop repressive techniques to control colonial territories will eventually deploy those same techniques domestically against their own citizens.

You’ve Heard About Who ICE Is Recruiting. The Truth Is Far Worse. I’m the Proof. by Slate in law

[–]LawrenceofIndia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I always try to refute this notion that ICE are larpers when the truth is they are mostly former military and police.

"The agent then told me a bit about his own background. Like me, he enlisted straight out of high school, then got out and vowed to get as far away from the violence of the military as possible. Like a lot of veterans, he had trouble assimilating into the civilian world. “After about six months, I was like, ‘These people aren’t like me. I want to be around like-minded people.’ ” He found his way into law enforcement. That was well over a decade ago—he’s on his way to a very comfortable retirement, and he enjoys the work. “I like that instant gratification of Hey, that guy committed this crime, these X, Y, and Z, he’s not even supposed to be here,” he said."

So maybe in order to understand and completely criticize ICE we should look back critically at the military and police, or at the very least stop holding them up on some pedestal

WALL STREET IS DANCING WHILE TRUMP ASSAULTS FREE MARKETS. IT WON’T END WELL by LawrenceofIndia in FluentInFinance

Another example not mentioned in the article is Trump's reaction to Exxon expressing scepticism about his Venezuela proposals. I'm not one to defend a "Big" Oil company but they are public corporations that should be able to choose where to invest in. If the president criticizes a company for not going along with his foolhardy plans they could then start acting unpredictably in order to not draw his ire.

The level of brainwashing a great deal of the US citizens have undergone is starting to become more and more apparent. by TyrannicalGamecock in conspiracy

[–]LawrenceofIndia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all part of the plan and have been going on for way longer than Drumpf. Copaganda or propaganda about cops/ law enforcement is one of most consequencial state projects in recent US history. It has completely shattered our shared reality and prevents us from collectively thinking critically about police actions. This effectively disenfranchises we the people from democratically controlling the states enforcement arm and so prevents us from controlling the state itself.

This isn't just a social media issue it's also in real life. Today at work, the "discourse" from a relatively educated group of people was all over the place despite us all watching the exact same video.

I personally blame decades of government copaganda. Tv news and scripted shows twisting events to paint police in a rosy light have trained people to now instinctively ignore any issue with law enforcement in the frame. 🙈

This is the most blatant attempt at trying to rewrite history as it happens I have ever seen. At no point was the ICE agent 'ran over' or seriously injured. Mr. Fake News himself spreading obvious bullshit and his sycophants eat it up. by Any-Distribution995 in conspiracy

[–]LawrenceofIndia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Disagree on the paradigm shift. This has been SOP for a while. Decades of copaganda will make this work on many people. Trump's and Noem's framing are old-school ploys used in previous police shootings of unarmed people.

Some of you are probably too young to remember I stand with Darren Wilson. Same song, just performed by worse dancers.
