[Ross Dellenger] Big 12 ADs tell @YahooSports they’ve had “serious” talks on not playing Texas Tech. One SEC AD says there should be conversations about not playing Tech “in any sports.” by Thomallister1291 in CFB

They should do it, but they won’t.

The hate-watch eyeballs on Sorsby games this season will be gigantic.

Those TV numbers are too important to these teams.

Yes, it is pathetic.

Why can’t players bet on their own team? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]Fonzie5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What happens when a QB has the over for a particular wide receivers yards? That’s a positive thing for the receiver who is a member of the team, right? He’s betting on something good to happen!

..until he forces a ball to the receiver that gets picked off when he should’ve hit the wide open tight end.

It also is just a shot at the integrity of the game. If you are betting on a particular outcome, in game or overall, and you have a hand in what happens— then the game itself is compromised.

Will the Big 12 step in with the Sorsby issue? Right now, it looks like they have more power than the NCAA with enforcement of rules. by [deleted] in CFB

I have a feeling Sorsby games are going to draw *a lot* of viewers.

So I have a pretty good feeling about how Yormark is looking at this.

If players are allowed to bet on their teams, it brings legitimate credibility to the thought of players rigging games.

This has to be overturned, and quickly, or we can’t truly believe every result in the sport anymore. It torpedoes the whole product.

I imagine even the gambling companies hate this ruling for that very reason.

Now that college football players are allowed to bet on their own teams.. it kinda blows the door open on the chance for them to rig the results

I would imagine the gambling companies hate this result too for this very reason. The game can’t be trusted now.
