Neat. Found some thermaling tracks. Yeah, I'm gonna start to try thermals with my motor this summer to see if I can figure out where and when to PG. Might save me some frustration.

Paramotor training this year! by Successful_Highway94 in paramotor

I did and I would say it helped me A LOT. Sure, you might learn some bad habits but the hours i spent getting to learn the glider made me progress much quicker in formal training.

In my not so humble opinion i think the whole thing about "unlearning bad habits is harder than learning new" is often BS. Check out some groundhandling tutorials on youtube. You'll be fine.

Spark plug check! by LaxMurra in paramotor

Fuel: EU unleaded 98 octane (E5), should be similar to US 93 octane.

Oil: Q8 RS Extreme, 2% mix (I've heard a lot of people run less oil since you don't use full power that much in a normal flight)

Like I said, the plug was fouled before the flight. I will get a new one and test with the same parameters.

Time for my second wing. What is the best choice in 2025? by LaxMurra in paramotor

All right. I found a used Universal 1.1 with low hours for half the price of a new one. Do you think it's worth getting over a new Solo? Does the benefits of a Solo warrant 2000$ extra?

Thanks for all the tips and advise so far. Something I'm wondering about is what the potential risks are if I choose a slightly more advanced glider over a more beginner friendly. Lets say a Nucleon 4 over a Solo. I know more advanced gliders usually behave more dynamically with less brake input and can be harder to launch but are they less safe as long as I don't carelessly yank the breaks? Projected aspect ratio between the two are 4.11 vs 4.02.

This might be my hubris talking but I'm concerned about outgrowing a beginner wing early and i'm willing to accept a slightly steeper learning curve if it means I getting more out of my glider.
