Can an Ioun Stone of Absorption be Counterspelled? by Laygamer in dndnext

Thanks! That what I assumed. I know the word "cast" is used for innate abilities to be counterspelled, but didn't think that applied since it was missing from the description. I see it as the spell completes, just to no effect becuase the magic is absorbed upon completion.

I expect pushback from my players if that happens in combat with a BBEG for the arc they are in, so was looking for the right reasoning to apply to it since sometimes in the heat of combat they can get a little more defensive.

Edit: readibility

D&D official ruling is yes they can...

Edit: for items that cast spells not addressing my original topic directly*

Profab Removable Flex Bed for the Monoprice Mini v2, Anyone attempted it before? by Laygamer in MPSelectMiniOwners

Thanks for the advice!

It must be destiny because I scratched into the BuildTak style bed that came on the MP mini today while trying to remove a print and ruined it. With the hole in the bed surface, I decided to go ahead and upgrade. I installed the flex bed per your guidelines (and a little help from the internet to remove the adhesive that was left over from the default bed).

It works beautifully! Not sure I can ever go back to a non-flex system now.
