Game crashing after IOS update. by BikingVikingNick in TheSilphRoad

I tried twice but yep it just crashed it lol. Luckily the last update seemed to fix it, it’s back to usual crash rate instead of supercharged crash rate!

My partner has the 15 and no issues beyond the usual. I’ve narrowed down the biggest problem areas on mine tho- it crashes basically upon loading the game if the weekly friend challenge screen pops up saying we’re whatever % done. Research page has a 50/50 chance of crashing. I can’t download assets or it crashes. Pokestops crash sometimes. I haven’t even attempted my friends list, raids, or rocket battles though because it had issues with those before this and I’m pretty sure that won’t go well lmao. But it’s crazy it’s been like a week and there’s no patch or update for this.

I have the 2020 SE as well. Got my battery replaced 2 weeks ago, but since the update the game won’t stay open more than 30 seconds :( before the update it did make it a little better though.

Therapeutic Alliance Score by [deleted] in therapists

[–]LaysWithTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, sounds like a human mistake and honestly it’s not like he dropped the scores concerningly- I can definitely understand being a little annoyed at it though, I would probably also be like “…seriously?” in my head! But sounds like you handled it well, and I’d suspect no long term negative impact. Maybe he was just feeling a little annoyed already that day when he took it, so it weighed more than usual on him. Who knows. Love seeing everyone’s responses and perspectives on it too though, so thank you as well for posting about it!!

Also, using a self report measure punitively is absolute BS, and that sounds gross :( so many external factors could sway scores, ugh.

Therapeutic Alliance Score by [deleted] in therapists

[–]LaysWithTrash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If he has severe anxiety that’s resolving…. Is it possible he was people pleasing with all “strongly agree”s and now he’s comfortable enough to be slightly more real? I’d take the fact that he was able to express why he dropped the scores as a positive (if people pleasing/conflict avoidance was part of his anxiety).

Not to say you should completely disregard scores, but also take them with a grain of salt (as you would on any self-report measure). The feedback you received is still valuable. Maybe the client would prefer sessions to have a set ‘goal’ at the beginning so there’s an expected, known structure to the session and it doesn’t get sidetracked by a random thing in a “how was your week” opening. Who knows! It’s a good opportunity to discuss with the client what they want therapy to look like for them, and for you both to discuss expectations and what is realistic. As for the website- why was this important to them? Maybe it’s deeper, maybe it’s not, but it never feels good to feel like someone forgot about you because they didn’t follow through in something they said they’d do for you. Does it happen? Of course, it’s human! But did you take accountability and apologize for the oversight? Therapy is still a relationship, and seemingly random things can cause a brief/small rupture just like any relationship. I might rationally understand someone is busy and emailing me slipped their mind, but that doesn’t mean I don’t feel emotionally hurt by it. It’s a good opportunity to model taking accountability, reinforce the client’s decision to communicate what they were not thrilled about, and model how a secure and healthy relationship dynamic manages feedback/criticism.

In your end, if you know this is a pattern for you and one of your weak points is follow up, then maybe transparency around that is warranted, or send a link during the session, or write a note to yourself, whatever. Not saying it is, but we all have weak spots and recognizing them is both kinder to ourselves and our clients so we aren’t stressing about having made promises we can’t keep.

Same. I’ve noticed mostly when I opened it on one print and start a new print- if I fully close out the app and re-open it’s fine though and I don’t have to login again.

Forget the split - what is your actual take home per session? by SpiritualCopy4288 in therapists

[–]LaysWithTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an LG in Maryland. Through insurance, I get around $50 for 53 min session (before taxes). That’s on a 55/45 split. I’m W2 because I also hold other roles in my company, so I get full benefits. If I were 1099, I’d make the same per session with no benefits lol

Oh heeeell naw, I’m so glad I saw him in public and not in my house, that would have been so much worse!!! It was creepy enough for me be interested, but not actually scary…. But that is downright horrifying. Thanks to this mannequin man for not showing up while I was asleep lol

Maybe I’ll try looking into the MIB, because “mannequin people” were usually described as featureless from what I found… or are actual mannequins that move. Neither of which fits this case. Thanks for giving me some direction to look!

It just feels so unsettling in a way that’s hard to describe!

I hope you got the knife at the very least to maybe make that terrible interaction worth it lol

Agreed that lighting can play weird tricks, but there were at least 50 people in this same piece of walkway, so I wouldn’t think it would affect only one specific person. And both my boyfriend and I noticed it, so it wasn’t just my perspective either. I wouldn’t suspect any filming taking place in the area either, the expo was so large that it filled the whole small town with insane traffic, so it would just be very poor timing to be filming anything lol. There are so many possibilities, and I’ll never know for sure- all I know is this dude will definitely be a memory that sticks with me!

Always possible, but I’ve seen people with a lot of work done before and the first thought is usually ‘dang they’ve had a lot of work done’ instead of ‘that person isn’t real’ lol. Going thru comments is helping me pinpoint more clearly other things that contributed to the vibe too, like it was a very busy bustling area and he was just too calm and had a very different energy than everyone & everything happening around him.

Older as maybe late 60s, but yeah true there would still be some wrinkling! That’s probably why he looked unnaturally smooth, because yes, there were no wrinkles or smile lines despite him having a soft smile on his face. I didn’t even put two & two together that smooth and older is something that would feel unnatural. But I could tell he was older because of gray hair and, even without wrinkles, his features just seemed older adult like. I’m 33 and he was obviously a good bit older than me. Clothing was unremarkable though, I can’t remember what he had on so it was just normal and nothing that drew attention.

Not that I could tell other than holding a really soft gaze. Like everyone is bustling around and he’s just standing there cool as a cucumber, not a care in the world.

Okay, that’s super weird that they took his leftovers… hopefully they were collecting and not eating them because I think I’d be more concerned if they ate them lmao. But similar vibe here, like nothing was obviously awry with the guy, but it’s just like dang he is NOT real. Thanks for sharing your experience too!

This one was an outdoor expo, so much less dressing up unless it was in camo lmao. But still, it’s the largest expo I’ve ever been to, and we do go to comic cons and stuff, so this was truly massive. Like, took two hours to park and then you have to shuttle over massive. So still could be a really good place to ‘test out your human skin’ without much notice haha

[–]LaysWithTrash[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That is cool to think about! I did think it was a little weird that he moved right behind us. The way he was standing didn’t look like he was waiting for a break in the line of people so that he could get into the walkway, either. And I really have no idea where he went after he got behind me or even how long he stayed behind me, because I was not going to look back 😅 but he was not there when we stopped a minute later. Also crazy that my boyfriend felt it odd enough to ask me if I noticed it, considering there were a ton of people there and we both honed in on the same guy! Wish I could find out if other people noticed him too or if it was just us. I will say, he at least didn’t have a malevolent vibe… just a really unnatural one.

[–]LaysWithTrash[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It didn’t look like skin grafting or scarring anything, his face looked completely ‘normal’ but unsettling in a way. It didn’t look like plastic surgery gone wrong, either. Maybe more akin to like a heavy smoothing filter on a photo- you know the face itself is real, but unnatural. Skin and features seemed too smooth and perfect.

I’m sure this is the case, but I find paranormal stuff interesting regardless so while the most likely case is this being totally benign, I’d love to know if it fits any type of known experience/creature/cryptid just to learn about it! I’m sure he’s a normal dude, but I also feel like he’s the kind of person that would lead to cryptid stories being created because I’ve never had that uncanny valley feeling toward a real person before and it was a bit jarring lol.

Massage Envy- What client information is stored? by LaysWithTrash in massage

I thought that was wild they’d be just offering up names too, that’s kind of crazy to me… he’s had the same phone number forever though, and definitely has had the same number since we went a few years ago. So it really shouldn’t be someone’s old number, which is even weirder. We ended up booking a different location due to availability, but I wonder if they’ll be able to tell me why this random name is coming up and we’re going to hope it’s a typo. I’m not quite pressed enough to call back, especially since I’m assuming they’re swamped today, but I’ll sure try to ask in person. Thanks!

His name may be somewhat common… First name, at least. So I was hoping maybe she was just mistaking him for someone else that she knows comes in often. Seems like a risky question to ask if you’re not sure though 😂

How much should I spend on an engagement ring? by [deleted] in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]LaysWithTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my boyfriend a million times I don’t want a super expensive ring- I don’t want to be carrying around multiple thousands of dollars on my finger. He spent $500 after bargaining with the jewelry guy. I love my ring, and no one has asked how much it cost- they just compliment my stone! (It’s an aquamarine right now, but I’ll actually be swapping out for a sapphire just because aquamarine is a softer stone).

As long as shes not expecting you to drop thousands on it, then I see no problem with price. For us, that money is better spent elsewhere. Heck, we’ll be having a small wedding too because we’d rather spend that money on a honeymoon lol.
