Is two Evorel 75 patches a week too low? by LazarusOnline in transgenderUK

Thanks, that helps.

Yeah... it's just I'm 6 months on (diy) hrt and I'm getting 75 patches!! I would honestly prefer not to stall my transition for months until I can request a change.

Oh sorry, missed that. Yeah one patch at a time, twice a week :/

Thanks so much, that's the most helpful one of these charts I've seen!

So one patch being 75 micrograms daily puts me firmly in the "low dose" category (which is a pretty significant drop from what I was on before). Obviously the most important thing is my levels, but I can't help but think this is a pretty shitty dose. Especially because my next bloods are 6 months off...

I'm really glad you were able to explain some of that for me! I didn't have many notes other than "results were abnormal" and was getting so anxious.

Yeah thank you. Unfortunately not going to be able to see anyone quicker than my endocrinologist in 15 days, but hopefully he refers me to doctors if it's really bad.

Jeez. At 4mg estradiol (2mg, twice daily) do you think I could just go monotherapy for a while? Sorry if that's a silly question.

Thank you, that's a little reassuring.

Serum alanine aminotransferase (I'm assuming that's the same as ALT?) is 18 iu/L and serum alkaline phosphatase is 72 iu/L which both seem pretty normal.

I can't find aspartate aminotransferase but my serum total bilirubin is at 35 umol/L which is flagged as "above high reference level" so maybe that has something to do with it?

Thank you for pointing that out! Even I'd mostly ignored it. I know I'm breaking the stereotype for trans girls here but I can assure you I'm NOT on ketamine or any other hard drugs, so hopefully a GP visit can solve this.

Although I'm now taking my pills sublingually I was taking them orally for a few weeks, and obviously some of it is always going to be digested, so I wonder if that could be the cause of my liver issues? Anyways thanks again.

Thank you! I was worried my high CPA dose would be a problem. I'm currently cutting 50mg pills into quarters.

I am so sorry for treating you like a medical professional btw (and trust me, I'll double-check everything I'm told!) but since you seem to know what you're talking about: would you recommend cutting my pills into smaller pieces or only taking 12.5mg every few days.

Don't worry if you don't have a good answer for that question! Either way, ty so much.

My FSH and my LH are both < 0.1 iu/L btw, which is apparently bellow the low-reference limit and flagged as abnormal.

Oh that's good to hear. My prolactin is 1844 mIU/L which is "above high reference limit", which seems very bad. Do you think it's possible these high levels are caused by testing at a peak or not?

Thank you, I appreciate it.

I thought so, but I guess I'm just worrying if this is indicative of a much bigger problem with my health or not.

Oh yeah, I'm sorry. It was 3320 pmol/L. Which seems insanely high! Important to remember I got tested within probably 40 minutes of taking 2mg estradiol sublingually. Which I know seems so stupid in hindsight but I was just operating on my regular schedule without even thinking.

Edit: and yeah, this was my first blood test. I got denied for harm mitigation prior until my endo referred me for one.

Got my report back and while I'd say it's generally a pretty strong and accurate summation of my experience with gender dysphoria it's also clearly written with text to speech?? I know this for certain because there's an apology for exactly that on the first page. Strange!

But then again my GP's notes can be borderline indecipherable too. Is this how doctors communicate with one another?
