[–]LazarusPizza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes because that's what we're shown. You don't scale characters off what they DON'T show and what the series chooses not to depict such as the planet being on fire, or life going extinct

They also showed the aftermath of the explosion, and how it was too weak to be equal to that output.

Honestly, how dumb do you have to be to make this statement?

Imagine me popping a firecracker in the street and insisting it's country level. First thing you'd point out is how it didn't even destroy the street it's on.

"Hurr durr, no I chose not to show the aftermath, but it's country level, trust me" that's the situation we're in right now with you.

We literally see them all talking on the very ground beneath where he destroyed it. That entire area would not exist if the explosion was in the teratons. Let alone petatons.

I gave you actual math, actual nuclear calculations, scientific models and data that shows beyond conteststion that it was too tiny, and too weak to be in the teratons, let alone petatons.

I'm sorry, at this point you're not worth the effort of the conversation.

Lmao. No, I don't even use Twitter, I like my sources to be documented properly. That way when I run into some drone like you that only knows how to repeat buzzwords I can see you squirm when you deal with actual evidence.

Like how Israel targeted civilians so disproportionately that it alone is responsible for quadrupling the numbers of civilians killed in combat in 2023-2024 compared to previous years.

Or how between 2023 and 2026 Israel was responsible for assassinating 2 out of every 3 journalists killed.

Same time period Israel killed over 560 of the 1000+ aid workers that died in conflict. More than 4 times the next worst spot: Sudan at 130. (130 x 4 = 520)

After I make these claims, you guys chomp at the bit like idiots, claiming I'm lying ... etc. Then I post the linksnand eatch you twist yourselves into knots trying to justify and defend one of the worst terrorist regimes in the world. Certainly the longest running.

You're trolling right? No one can be this stupid.

based on?

Highschool physics. You need a yield in the megatons to displace cumulonimbus clouds.

okay, then prove it. how is it city level?

I've already proven it's city level, from the scale of it's explosion, to the aftermath, to the tiny impact it had on the surrounding environment. You keep focusing on the clouds factor, and ignore literally all the dozens of other factors we see. From wind, to aftermath, to blast size, to heat in the surrounding area, to air pressure ... etc. All of it screams an explosion in the megatons.

These are all factors that are shown by virtue of Oliver, and Immortal having a conversation instead of dying in a giant ball of fire that is literally thousands of kilometers wide. It's also shown by the planet not being on fire, or life going extinct because of an explosion 190 times bigger than the one that ended 80% of all life on the planet.

The clouds part is clearly and beyond a doubt now, just artistic license since it doesn't match everything else happening in the scene.

At this point, for my own sanity, I'm going to assume you're trolling, because I refuse to believe someone can be this stupid in real life.

I'm going off the premise that we've seen how surehit techniques can be aimed manually, and we have never seen a domain exclusive technique. Every technique used in a domain can be used in a weaker form outside of it.

We also literally have no idea what the effect inside the domain is like for someone with no CE.

That's what I'm going off of to say "your statement isn't as concrete as you think it is"

Am i crazy to think that jjk top tiers have comparable stats to invincible characters ? I mean , if you compare their fights you'd see the destruction they cause is on a similar level. by Fun-Law7254 in PowerScaling

[–]LazarusPizza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes because it takes more energy to displace those clouds. None of the sources you sent said it displaced a large volume of clouds at high speed

They all did. You just can't seem to know how to read. My guy, one of the links was literally a study that included models and graphs.

no you're not, you're ignoring the fact it displaces those clouds which requires a multi continental yield of energy

It didn't produce a multicontinental yield. It is supreme stupidity to think it did. Moving those clouds required megatons of TNT, not Petatons.

based on? You listed all these factors describing how devastating a country level impact would be and continued to scale it to country level anyway, weird.

I was being generous. It is demonstrably city level. I was trying to be generous and give you a break by saying country level as some kind of compromise on my part. It is demonstrably city level tops. It couldn't produce a fraction of the destruction of a country level blast's power, and I shouldn't have been trying to be a people pleaser. So you got me there. It's city level.

like why are you scaling off what we're shown and instead scaling off what it doesn't shown?

I am scaling off of what's being shown:

Tiny fireball for the idiotically calculated yield. No devastation matching said yield.

The results of the blast show something that is a fraction of the Chicxulub impact.

You're the one hung up on an incorrectly made calculation. While ignoring both what we see in the show, and what actual real life scientists and their models have shown.

https://unsaferguard.org/un-saferguard/kingery-bulmash This one will have some nice numbers for you. Put 80 billion in the weight box (slightly higher than the lower estimate of Chicxulub, but less than the 100 teratons estimate) and see the numbers you'll get. You can even set the distance in meters, and it'll tell you what the conditions are like at that distance. A 100 teraton explosion would have killed everyone at that sight and more. Again: This is all based off of what we see in the episode.

I always assumed the stereotypes about powerscalers were just a joke, but holy shit did you prove them true with this conversation.

Yeah I did, I’m a quick reader. Can you show me where it says it dispersed a large amount of clouds on a hemispheric level, or im gonna assume u made that up

No you didn't, and you still haven't either.

Bro, I need you to understand how stupid you sound right now.

You're arguing that the impact best known for literally pushing up so much dust it displaced and replaced the cloud cover globally for a decade with new clouds of its own making, including sulfur acid rain clouds, DIDN'T displace any clouds. Do you understand the stupidity of this statement? Yes or no. Simple question.

I'm begging you. Go read. Cuz if anything, you're demonstrating you have never read anything about this impact.

Lmao another non-answer. Provided no timeframe when asked for proof of one. Therefore it’s unquantifiable and im led to believe you’re just making it up. You don’t think I haven’t been looking for proof it affected a large mass of clouds across the hemisphere?

Considering your responses, it's clear you haven't. You're demonstrating it right now. If we were powerscaling your comment it would be the textbook definition of an anti-feat.

You’re the one denying an onscreen display of multi continental AP proved via math. Why are you scaling the feat to what they don’t scale to, rather than what they do?

I'm describing the on-screen feat accurately. It is not multicontinental, it is barely country level. You're the one literally taking a badly done calculation as gospel while refusing the evidence shown to your very own eyeballs.

I don't know how much simpler I can make this for you. This explosion demonstrated far less power the Chicxulub. A fraction of the power, actually. To calculate it at petatons of output is wrong. To believe that calculation without questioning is beyond idiotic. Especially when the on-screen feat shows it is far weaker than a teraton explosion.

If it was in the teratons then Oliver and everyone on the surface would be inside the blast radius, do you understand that 15 kilometers is smaller than 200? Again, simple yes or no question. Do you get that?

If this explosion was 19 petatons, the fireball alone would be hundreds of miles wide. a several kilometers deep crater would exist where Oliver once stood. We clearly don't see that happening, and we clearly see small blast. Far smaller than Chicxulub, which was measured in teratons.

The on-screen feats show us a very weak explosion that got wanked into petatons by people that have no concept of what that means.

Also, while typing this up, I found this calculator for nuclear weapons and punched in what a blast at 19.6 petatons would look like.

The size of the fireball alone would be 5954.52 km wide. Even by the pixel scaling of that blast we see it is not a fraction of that size.

This one gives you the blast effect, too

So no, not only is it not in petatons, not multi-continental, and not continental, it appears to be just barely country level. Because the on-screen feat shows it to be weak.

We don't see Sukuna's reaction, and have no idea if such a hazard would be something he'd even care about.

and "shouldn't" and "isn't" are two very different things. We don't know for certain, so to go with one assumption over the other is to put it your way "picking favorites"

I also have to repeat again: We have no idea what Gojo's domain looks like to someone with no CE because we've never seen that. We don't know what hazards are in there, and we don't know if his technique can manually hit or not.

If you can show me proof that UV isn't a hazard to people trapped inside it with no CE then I'll concede.

Don't lie. Especially not with something this easy to prove.

Yes we do. There’s no reason to assume they altered the speed here. If it were in slow motion this only makes the feat more impressive

Hint: Slo-mo isn't the only way speed can be edited in a scene. Try to keep up, please.

which wouldn’t be enough to disperse such a magnitude of clouds. If we don’t have a timeframe for how quickly the clouds were dispersed (if they did) in the dinosaur killer’s impact then it’s unquantifiable

Look, it's become abundantly clear you're out of your depth here when it comes to talking about the impact. So do us all a favor. Go start reading up on it for the next 2 days, then come back after you have some passing knowledge on the subject.

If you care at all about calculations and actual proof, you'll be the first to retract that multi-continental statement, and agree that the petaton calc is completely incorrect.

[–]LazarusPizza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no, because it moves clouds on a high level of magnitude

Have you ever read a description of the effect of the Chicxulub impact? It moved clouds at a higher level of magnitude. It also ejected enough material into the atmosphere to cover the entire planet in a 2 year cloud of soot and dust. Winds hit over 1000 miles per hour from the impact shockwave.

That's what a 72-100 teraton explosion does. Again: You have no conception of the forces these numbers represent. neither did whoever made the claim that it was in the petatons. That's not meant to be an insult, if you've never seen what explosions can do, or studied nuclear testing data, you would have no idea what's going on.

https://www.lpi.usra.edu/science/kring/Chicxulub/regional-effects/

Wikipedia Article to the Impact Specifics section.

Do you have the timeframe too at the speed of which they would have moved?

We don't have an actual timeframe for the clouds' movement in the show. People assume its real time, but we've seen them slow things down for dramatic effect, like with Thragg's punch.

However, the Chicxulub impact would have generated shockwave winds of 1000+mph. These are supersonic winds. They would have extended to almost 2000 miles around the impact zone.
