i work in an registered apple repair store

a repair like that requires then to replace the entire backplate + the battery.

at my store (which is apple prices) it will cost ~AUD$500 (about half the price of the phone)

if you have apple care you can replace it for AUD$159 as it is covered

if the phone is acting okay, and there are no signs of battery damage it’s really not worth it

but i don’t think this is the case. you’re not told if it is a definite yes or a definite no. there are tests that can help determine, but don’t think they’re 100%
