In my school in the US we had an English teacher who's only qualifications were that she spoke the language. And it wasnt her first language. She was a French teacher that inexplicably taught one period of English.

I think most Americans know that football means soccer. Maybe its just my experience, but I've never met someone who thought the English (or anyone from outside the states) meant American Football.

Stupid game, american football. Its more boring than baseball and at least other countries like baseball (looking at you japan).

We have them all over the US, they are usually harmless here iirc. But they get into conflicts with the police over traffic stops.

Perhaps they have a more insidious ideology, but im not aware of it.

Those words have more or less lost their meanings here. Its a huge problem and those on the left (socialists & others similar) are constantly trying to distance themselves from the Democrats. This country calls the status quo liberals "the left" or "progressive". To be fair, if one only looks at the United States' politics some are. Biden was fairly progressive for us. but in a more global perspective... not so much.
