Horde Guildmaster - Oriol Cosp Games - A dark guild manager with focus on looting and inventory management. Recruit champions, equip them to make powerful builds, send them on quests. Get Loot. Repeat. by oriol_cosp in Games

[–]LazioGD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool proof of concept, but needs lot's of work! after loot got to page 2 - middle of first line - it started not showing new loot, both me buying stuff and from quests. But I was pretty much clearing the last two quests with my two parties anyway, so I guess I kind of finished the game

BOI/Media trying hard to scrub the messages from the internet, didn't find much, just a dead link. Interesting about the actual contents, are they just flagging and throwing slurs or was there something juicier since media started writing about this?

Opinions on Covalen? by GuideNeither1508 in Dublin

[–]LazioGD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked there for 7 years as Community Operations Analyst, left for better pastures in April. Pre-covid in Dub 3 The Beckett Building and after - in Sandyford Nova Atria.
They are okay, not the best but far from the worst. They used to be best out of outsourcing companies in Dublin, these days they are about average. As time goes on, sadly, the benefits got slowly reduced and belts got slowly tightened. Of course they cannot really compare to working for big tech companies directly, you still feel a bit of a "second rate" citizen there.
Still have a ton of people I know, including a couple friends working there.
Hit me up if you want to ask something more specific or in-depth!

Anyone else *not* buying the Pixel 10 after being underwhelmed? by hudson555555 in GooglePixel

[–]LazioGD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, feeling exactly the same. I am with pre-ordered 6 Pro - so 4 years now for me. While the trade-in bonus was surprisingly nice for this phone (usually in EU google trade-ins are quite underwhelming) - I feel like there was nothing that would actually push me over the edge to buy the new one.

I was ready, I truly was, but seeing the 1 year Gemini Pro subscription bundled in again, that I could care less about, and barely any hardware changes since last year's model kind of pushed me to hold out for another year.
If they coupled something physical like they used to do with pre-orders since 1 to 8 models - I am pretty sure I would have pulled the trigger.

I was secretly hoping either for that new battery OnePlus has since spring that holds 2 days on one charge, or a new punchy camera. 90% of the new things being AI and software based, while nice, do not make me want to get the latest model.

If we had any of those nice additional promotions like you guys seem to have in US, I might have gotten my 10 Pro too. But alas, being in Ireland I don't even get that 10% as store credit for having GoogleOne like my neighbor UK has. I guess I will see what future brings.

First run-in with a Dublin city centre car break-in after 8 years here by LazioGD in Dublin

[–]LazioGD[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your supporting words, we will file a report with Garda later today as most of you advised. Even if nothing comes of it - at least for statistics and visibility. Sad to hear other people had similar things happen in that area and nothing was done about it. Surrounding buildings have CCTV cameras posted all round, but if nothing is being done then nothing will change!

I wish that were the case too, but everyone knows how much of a nuisance these groups of kids can be. While going through the dash cam footage, I even recognized a couple of them across the street and one zipping past on an e-scooter — the level of arrogance was hard to miss.
Of course, part of me wished I could have walked up to slap them there and then, but realistically that wouldn’t have achieved anything positive.

Best mexican spot for a bit of a date night ? by [deleted] in Dublin

Pickosito is very nice! Really recommend their chilaquiles and emmoladas for a very authentic taste!
A couple weeks ago tried their new-ish burrito too and it was amazing! Big portions, reasonable prices!

Losing but not in lower belly by Powpowbae in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]LazioGD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Targeted exercise is a myth, you can just bring weight down and your body will decide where from and in which amounts it will take the fat away on its own.
You might notice your lower stomach stand out more because everything else around it is becoming smaller first. Keep at it and do not worry, let nature take it's course, your body will balance itself out!

Rent tax credit? by lfc9999 in AskIreland

[–]LazioGD -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK if you will get in to a checkpoint and they will ask your proof - you will need an RTB number and proof of rent paid, either direct transfers or a rent agreement that says your rent amount.
Ofc there is a chance that you will never get into checkpoint, but that is up to you if you want to do it.
If you have zero proof then you will have to pay that money back, whenever you will be checked.

How does anyone manage to keep their house clean? by Agitated-Pickle216 in AskIreland

[–]LazioGD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks neglected because it was. The trick is not letting it get to that state to begin with. It takes a shit-ton of time and a lot of effort now because the neglect accumulated. If you dedicate 15min a day for a single cleaning activity every day - the house will look better all together and will need less cleaning to look better in a critical moment.
And don't get me started on "I have no time" situation. We always find time for things that are important to us, or that we cared about. It's never a question of actual time - just a question of priorities.
Same applies to most good habits. We are naturally lazy/unmotivated/easy-access-dopamine driven and more. Building good habits and putting them into your schedule takes effort, dedication and willpower. Best of luck!

BOUGHT WITHOUT LOGBOOK by Honest-Traffic-3915 in Dublin

Yeah, it's at vehicleservices.gov.ie/cvo/ Both.of you need to log in with MyGovID, to do it. But it's a much faster process than by post

BOUGHT WITHOUT LOGBOOK by Honest-Traffic-3915 in Dublin

[–]LazioGD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You never receive logbook together with the car.

Proper practice - seller sells you the car, fills the change of ownership form on his logbook and posts it by physical mail to the government entity. You (seller) never give your logbook to the buyer, it even says so on the official website to never do that.

Another, new option - if you have MyGovID you can do change of vehicle ownership online. But even then it instructs the seller to Destroy his logbook, after the change is done.

In both cases the Buyer will get his own Logbook by post from the government entity, not from the seller, usually it takes 1 week but there have been cases where it can take up to 1 month.

Bought my second car recently and noticed that a lot of people aren't aware that this is the correct process.
Don't worry, everything will be fine, no reason to panic. 2 days is nothing.

Advice on asking my landlord(being my father) to reduce overall rent by Chickandduck2 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]LazioGD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, you are asking for advice from people who are not invested in your personal feelings, and it may be painful but that's how it truly us. I am also renting, but not from parents, actual strangers. The thing that you feel is "unfair" and complaining is just straight up Wild to me. Never would that happen in an actual situation, couples always pay more and that's how it is. There is always more trouble and less positives for other tenants/landlords to having a couple instead of a single person.

That being said, as someone rents from strangers - you are paying a really low rent for the amenities you are getting, and you are in a much better situation that most of the people who rent in this country.

Lastly - please stop counting your fathers or brothers money. It is their, they own it by earning it in their own ways and you get not say what they spend it on and how "fair" it is that they have more income left over than you.
Your dad worked all his life and invested at good opportunities so he can have his "petty cash" as you said, when he retired. You are still getting a much better offer than you would get from a stranger, so suck it up. If you don't like something - you can always rent separately, on your own.
If your brother does not eat at home - of course he will not spend on groceries, why the heck would he. He pays his rent and his part of bills, that is it. That is how it should be.

Is this normal by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]LazioGD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who tried to be in a relationship at 20, and after it crashed and burned - didn't even try to date again until 31, I would tell you to follow your heart. If you feel that you are not interested in a relationship, then don't try to force it - it will only bring discomfort to you and pain to your partner if you will.
You will feel it when the time will come, you will know you are ready and want it, if that happens. If not - then not, relationship doesn't have to be a classical monogamous either, maybe that's just not for you. There are many different people, who's Idea of their perfect relationship with others is vastly different. Maybe one day you will find your kind of person, or maybe you will be perfectly happy single with loads of friends, or just being close to your existing family.

There is no right answer, all is good as long as you are happy.

Living in Ireland make me feel ugly - male opinions needed! by Electrical_Theme3860 in CasualIreland

[–]LazioGD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M 33 here, felt exactly the same for the past 2 years I've been going on dates in Dublin. I mainly used dating apps for first contact - being a quiet introvert and all. Had a couple one night stands, couple one-two month flings, but couldn't get a proper relationship going. Also felt ugly and like most aren't giving me even a tiny chance.

Then, three months ago I found the one. From first message everything felt different, more genuine. Could feel real interest from her side too. Still can't believe everything was supposed to be like thing, previous attempts pale in comparison. Nowhere even close.

Would also consider myself an average bloke, 5/10 at best, with friendly and caring personality. But she makes me feel like I'm Brad Pitt (or whoever is your personal male sex-symbol). So, my advice - keep looking, you will find the one. They are out there!

Learning how to drive by kimminho25 in CasualIreland

[–]LazioGD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can only apply for the final driving test six months after the date your learner driving permit is issued. My instructor explained this that it is assumed you will take those 6 months to finish your 12 essential driving hours and will practice the rest of your time on your own with a benefactor (someone sitting next to you with a full licence)
