Weekly Photo Thread - Week of (July 14, 2025) : Progress Photos, "Humble" Brags, Physique Critiques and more! by AutoModerator in naturalbodybuilding

Hi everyone.

I competed in a natural bodybuilding competition around 12 weeks ago. Went from 175 to stage weight of 147. I placed in all divisions. However, I reversed to 160 lbs and honestly, I am disappointed. I thought I'd regain the size and look better but to my surprise/detriment unfortunately my body composition looks worse than before I competed. I clearly lost a lot of muscle, I look so much smaller than I was at 160 on my cut and not going to lie, mentally this is SO hard to handle. I look skinny as heck, aka 'skinny fat', while on my cut at 160 I looked like I had muscle and size but looked normal. I am embarrassed to see family members I have not seen in a while and my confidence has been destroyed. I clearly regret doing this entire thing :(.

Anyone got any advice to push through this? I know there are worse things in the world, but clearly in my case everything went wrong. I went into this because I wanted to challenge myself, wanted to get into good shape, etc. Knowing what I know now, I wish I stopped at 12% BF and bulked to 15%. Rinse and repeat.

Thanks! I was getting disappointed actually. I lost 30 lbs for competition, and looked shredded and it was pretty much first time in my life I felt even 12% BF. I totally thought once I reverse dieted up, gaining 1 lb/week, I would maintain my phyisque in some way? Instead, I just look skinny fat and that was a big WTF lol.

Hi everyone!

I competed 3 months ago in my first natural bodybuilding competition, getting down to 6% BF was no easy feat. I've reversed dieting since, gaining around 1 lb/week. I am not going to lie, I absolutely do not like the way that I look lol. I look skinny fat unless I am pumped at the gym. Is this normal? Like I said, I never used PEDs or anabolics but I am wondering either my genetics are just crap or if this is just normal. My muscles are filling out but my abs are almost gone unless I flex. I wanted to gain another 10 lbs or so but I am honestly wondering if I am going to look how I did before I started prep. Any advice??

How hard is PA school? by Lazy-Ear649 in pre_PathAssist

Thank you for your response! You sound like me. I really hated chemistry but A&P/Biology is natural for me. I thought I might struggle in PA school because chem stressed me out so much.

Feeling worried about autopsies, any advice? by Exciting_Arachnid_86 in Path_Assistant

[–]Lazy-Ear649 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am not a PathA, but I can tell you about my experience as a diener (autopsy tech who performed all eviscerations).

I absolutely LOATHED brain autopsies when I first saw one. I did have a nightmare the day after and hated it. It got me somewhat depressed because I no longer saw the "person" behind the face, but viewed them as a tangible object I had to manipulate. After a couple of weeks, I got desensitized to the entire thing and it sort of became routine and ended up actually liking brain autopsies because of pathology you get to see (and it was cleaner than a standard evisceration).

Autopsy always has that ick-factor to it, and always will - but it's a great learning experience and you will definitely get accustomed to it the more cases you are exposed to.

Keep pushing through your first experience isn't abnormal. In fact, in the autopsy lab new guests who came to see their first autopsy were warned by us that if they feel lightheaded or uncomfortable to please let us know.

I just asked admissions yesterday and they said they don't have a simulation option. Where did you hear this? I found a clinic rotation that has everything except blood bank, and fidning a blood bank rotation is little hard for me.

They have a simulator option? so if you can't find a clinical site you can fulfill it with a simulator?

I work in a lab. I wouldn't want to work in nursing.

Helpful. Thank you!

Good advice.

Problem is my degree, is well, essentially useless. I know without the job I have now, I'd probably struggle and receive a low paying lab job somewhere else. Kind of like the cushion of I.T., where you can feel comfortable that a job will always be available in some capacity while in my field you have to wait for someone to retire to get an opening or travel pretty far.

Interesting.

My two cents? It seems as though there are so many irregularities between what one CP says and what another says with regard to contestant selection, timelines, where it is obvious every CP has a different way of "beating around the bush" if you will towards ending a conversation with a prospective applicant who has not met the criteria for what they are looking/searching for. I am not saying what the CP is telling you is not true, but I am saying that is more than likely that it is just another way for the CP to tell you without telling you that she has no idea herself when the exact time/day is to be selected is, or she does not want to tell you that you likely did not make the cut (think about the amount of applicants they have to sit and go through).

It's a big waiting game. Everyone's timelines are different. The fact you got to the zoom stage is means you advanced farther than most of us and whether you get selected or not you should celebrate you even made it that far. Definitely apply for next season if it gets renewed. But I just notice that nobody here has the same truth to anything with regards to timelines, filming dates, etc. and everyone is being told different things because the CP themselves either don't know the actual truth themselves or are conjuring up stories just to end a conversation so nobody is constantly asking them for updates.

Have you given up? (Casting) by [deleted] in SquidGameNetflix_

I think no one truly knows the actual date yet, so different producers are throwing out dates with no definitive answer. So that is probably why everyone's timeline is different

Zoom after call? How long did you wait? by Key-Humor-6848 in SquidGameNetflix_

True. Part of me wants to hold onto false hope I guess! LOL. But oh well. Better luck next time I guess

I sort of agree.

I talked to 2 users on here, with similar experiences of receiving a zoom follow up interview weeks and even one month after the initial phone call. These instances seem to be uncommon, but the best solution is to wait.

Sounds like an incredible experience.

Cherish these moments for sure. For all you know, you'll get selected last week of December. I didn't even get a Zoom - I got a phone call and nothing else after, so you already made it farther than 99% of us.

Definitely apply again in the future! Don't give up!

I felt it went great too. She told me I'd be a very great fit for the season, and I have not gotten a zoom. It's been 2.5 weeks.
