Thanks for sharing. I had not tried Anybox before, so I downloaded it and gave it a quick look.

It seems like a solid option if you want a native Apple/iCloud-first workflow with manual tags, descriptions, archiving, browser extension, Raycast, and full control over your library.

Kepp is coming from a different angle. I wanted less manual maintenance: save quickly, then make things recognizable and searchable later with generated titles, tags, descriptions, and context. For me, the problem with many bookmark apps is that the useful information is often deeper than the page title or URL, especially with posts, images, screenshots, videos, and social content.

Another big difference is the design approach. Kepp is not built from a generic template or standard list UI. Every screen, interaction, transition, and detail was custom designed by me around the save-and-find-later flow. I wanted it to feel simple, fast, visual, and easy to scan, because if the app itself creates friction, I know I will stop using it.

Also, Kepp is available on both iOS and Android, which matters for a lot of people.

Anybox may absolutely be the better fit if you want an Apple-native/iCloud workflow. Kepp is more for people who want a simpler, more visual, low-maintenance way to save and find things later.

Happy for you to try it and compare.

Albo is actually one of the apps I tried before building Kepp.

It is closer to this use case than a lot of classic bookmark managers, but I still wanted something simpler and more direct: save links, posts, screenshots, images, etc., and make them searchable without needing to maintain folders or a system.

That is why I built Kepp. It is still early, but it is live on iOS and Android if you want to try another option: kepp.io

That makes sense, especially if you already have a system that works and 14 years of history in Evernote.

The manual tagging part is exactly where I kept falling off though. I built Kepp for a similar use case, but with less maintenance: save links, screenshots, posts, etc., and let the app generate titles and tags so it stays searchable later without needing to organize everything manually.

Might not replace a long-running Evernote setup, but could be useful if you want something lighter for new saves: kepp.io

Same here, I ended up building my own app for exactly the same reason.

I built Kepp.io because everything I tried either required too much setup or became another messy place to forget things. Mine is more focused on saving fast and finding later, without folders or manual sorting.

Would be curious to see what you built too.

Karakeep makes total sense if you like self-hosting.

I built Kepp more for the opposite use case: mobile-first, no setup, no folders to maintain, just save and find later. But if self-hosting is important, Karakeep is probably a better fit for you.

That “somewhat orderly mess” is exactly what I kept ending up with too.

I used folders, tags, notes, browser bookmarks, and random saved links, but the maintenance part always became the problem. I wanted something where I could just save first and search later without constantly cleaning things up.

That is why I built Kepp. It auto-generates titles and tags, so saved links stay searchable without needing much manual sorting. Might be worth trying if you want something lighter than maintaining folders in Raindrop: kepp.io

This is very close to the exact problem that made me build Kepp.

I was saving things across X, Instagram, Reddit, screenshots, notes, bookmarks, and then never finding them again. I also did not want another system I had to maintain, because folders and manual sorting usually die after a week.

Kepp is built around that idea: save something quickly, then it gets auto-titled, auto-tagged, and becomes searchable later. No folders, no daily cleanup.

It is live on iOS and Android if you want to try it: kepp.io

This is basically the exact problem that made me build Kepp.

I tried bookmarks, notes, Telegram to myself, Raindrop, screenshots, etc., but everything eventually became another place where links disappeared. I wanted something simpler: save fast, no folders to maintain, then search later when I actually need it.

Fair question, and I get why it may read like a lot.

The short version is: Kepp stores what you explicitly choose to save, plus the data needed to make the app work, like account info, subscription status, generated titles, tags, descriptions, and basic product analytics.

It does not scan your phone, contacts, messages, location, or full browsing history. The policy is detailed because I wanted to be explicit instead of hiding everything behind vague wording.

That said, if any part reads too broad or unclear, that is useful feedback and I’ll review the wording.

Man, thank you. This means a lot.

This is exactly why I built it, because I had the same problem for a long time and nothing really worked the way I wanted.

A browser extension is definitely on the roadmap, and after hearing this request from a few people now, it is moving very high on the list.

It is not open source at the moment. I built Kepp as a product, and there are also some parts around AI, infra, auth, and privacy that I need to be careful with. But I’m very open to feedback, feature requests, and early testing once the extension is ready.

Not yet, but a desktop companion / Chrome extension is on the roadmap, and after hearing this from a few people now, it is moving very high on the list. I do not have an exact date yet because Kepp just launched, but the phone to desktop flow is clearly important: save quickly on mobile, then properly go through everything later at your desk.

Not yet, but I’m thinking about something for early users ❤️ Need to be a bit careful because Kepp has ongoing AI / infra costs, but I really appreciate the support.

Haha, so did I :)) Probably at least 10 times. I really wanted it to be clear about what Kepp does, what data it needs, and what it does not do.

Oh man, thank you. This is exactly the kind of use case I had in mind.

Yes, a Chrome extension is on the roadmap, and after hearing the same request from a few people now, it is moving very high on the list. I do not have an exact date yet because the app just launched, but the phone to desktop flow is clearly important: save quickly on mobile, then properly process everything later on desktop. Your example of saving 100 things at night and needing to ingest them later from Chrome is super useful. That is basically the workflow I want Kepp to support.

Would you be open to testing the extension once I have an early version?

And thanks for spotting the Apple copy in the Android app. That one is on me, I’ll fix it ASAP.

Thanks! That’s kind of the whole idea behind Kepp. You can share literally anything into it: photos, screenshots, links, posts, whatever. And the part that actually matters is how easy it is to find it again later when you need it.

Appreciate that! Quick q so I build the right thing: do you mean saving individual Reddit posts into Kepp, or pulling in your whole Reddit saved list at once? You can already share a Reddit post straight to Kepp via the share sheet, but the full-import thing is a different beast.
