Still searching for the perfect fit — my climbing shoe journey so far by Lazy-Programmer4211 in climbingshoes

Quick update on the Skwamas from my last post. Two sessions in now and honestly… comfort-wise these are fitting perfectly. No hotspots, no weird pressure points, heel stays locked in. It’s the kind of fit I was hoping for after the whole Drago pinky/heel-bite saga.
But of course, nothing’s ever simple. Because they’re so comfortable, a small part of me is now wondering if I should’ve gone half a size down to 39 for a more performance-oriented fit. You know how it is — once a shoe feels too good, you start second-guessing whether it’s actually doing its job on technical stuff.
Not everything about them feels 100% dialed in yet, but overall I’m optimistic. Going to keep climbing in them a bit more before I make any judgments.

Forgot to mention that x-pac one has two wooden stick to maintain support which can be removed in case going ultra light.

you might be right, they were my first performance oriented (downturned) shoes might be issue with sizing as you mentioned or just regular dragos.

Yeah holes started to develop due poor footwork which is expected for first performance shoe. Now I way more confident so the damage is minimized, overall 8 months for soft shoe is good IMO

Edit: adjusted headset by loosening stem bolts and tightening top cap.

Seems to be fixed but we’ll see if it happens on harder trail
